I was sitting at the kitchen table working on baby girl's mobile when all of a sudden a crazy vaginal pressure hit out of no where. If I stand it feels like she's going to fall out. Is this just her head pushing on my cervix? There isn't any pain just downward pressure. Tell me this is normal, please!

@photojane: I think it's probably normal BUT if compounded with any signs of early labor, I think you're supposed to call your doctor?

Well, I've been having braxton hicks for a couple weeks, but no real labor signs. I'm not in any pain right now, just lots of pressure. It's so weird!

@photojane: If you don't have back pain or too many contractions in an hour (I forget how many is okay-- 4 or 5 maybe?) then it's probably not early labor...yikes, I hope you don't have 10 weeks of it ahead!

Might be good to check with a nurse just in case! Is it a temporary pressure or does it stay?

they did a cervical check at 28 weeks and i was completely closed, and at my 30 week appointment on tuesday the doc said that the light menstrual-type cramps i've been having are normal, so i'm not terribly worried. i just haven't felt anything like this so far. she's been pretty low the whole pregnancy since my placenta is up top, but i usually feel her on my pelvic bone or bladder not pressure on my cervix/vagina.
@Mrs. Lantern: if i'm sitting/standing, it's pretty constant. when i lay on my side it goes away a little. i feel like i'm just being a crazy, paranoid ftm & i don't want them to send me to labor and delivery for no reason!

@photojane: I had some of this this morning! but it was more like vaginal pain than pressure. I am not having contractions or anything (at least not painful ones) and I can still mostly feel his head pressed against my right pelvic joint, but man yeah, it sucks!

@photojane: it concerns me that it came on quickly and intensely. I had vaginal pressure towards the end but it was never acute. Since its Friday I would probably go ahead and call your OB before we head into the weekend and just let her know exactly what you are feeling.

I had that a lot towards the end of my pregnancy. Sometimes it felt like she was going to fall out! She was just really low. Did they tell you what station your baby was at during your cervical check? I was feeling it when my LO was at -2, I think.
