Valentine's Day POAS

@GreenThumb: Yes! I've only done one cycle so far, but I was CONVINCED I was pregnant. I even changed my eating habits and cut out coffee (which gave me a massive headache, haha). And then AF showed up! I'm going to try to be a little less obsessive this time around.

    @Adira: I know... it's so tough!

@GreenThumb: Thank you. I'm with you and @Adira: I'm going to try to resist testing before AF is due. I was convinced I was pregnant last month. I had a big wake up call last month when AF showed up. I don't want to put myself through that again.

@mrskc: Yes! Being convinced you're going to see a BFP in your future only to have AF show up sucks! Hopefully we all have BFPs waiting for us in our not-too-distant futures!

@Adira: So sorry AF showed up!!

I'm back guys. Thanks so much for understanding my craziness. Now I really realize that testing too early is such a bad idea. I tested again on Saturday (~9DPO) because I was going out with friends, it was negative, I had a couple of glasses of wine and it felt nice.

My new plan is not to test until AF is late. It's just too hard on me, and I figure I would rather see a solid BFP instead of squinting and taking apart tests, and convincing myself I see something.

So, next test date, Saturday! 16 DPO.

@sslm: Yeah, I think the uncertainty of those tests would drive me crazy. You'll still be obsessing, even if you don't test every day, but at least you'll just be in a state of unknown instead of pulling tests apart and convincing yourself you're seeing things you're not (or worse, seeing a BFN). I hope this month is your month!!!

@sslm: you really shouldn't feel foolish at all. if I got a hint of a line i would have been all over here posting, and super excited - even if I was 5 dpo!

I'm not feeling hopeful this month. My OPK's were messed up - i didn't go out and buy more because I'm goign to call to complain & have them send me new ones - those digital smiley tests are EXPENSIVE, so I didn't get my SMILEY this month. Right around expected O time I noticed 2-3 days of EWCM, and I had light cramping off & on - that seems to be my new thing around O time.... But, we were travelling & visiting friends, so only BD'd 2, maybe 3 times around when I thought I might be Oing.... We will see. Also - having some cramping today? So weird.

Feb 14th is literally the day AF is expected.

@hellobeeboston: Good luck! I'm expecting AF around the 14th as well.

Here I am on 12DPO. I still haven't tested since Saturday, yay! Actually, as AF gets closer I get more and more scared to actually test, I think it might actually be easier to deal with AF rather than a BFN.

I'm having some "symptoms" but nothing too out of the ordinary for me between O and AF. Trying not to read too much into the sore boobs and nausea, bc I feel like surely it's too soon for those to be preg symptoms?

  12. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@sslm: I agree with you. I think AF might be easier to deal with than a BFN. I'm not sure if it's going to stop me from testing early though. Good luck to you! Problem with early pregnancy symptoms is that they mimic PMS.

5 DPO today. I want this work week to hurry up and go by.

    cantaloupe / 6397 posts

@mrskc: I'm not sure I'm going to be strong... Haha. I'm looking at charts and so many people get BFPs at 12DPO!! Ugh.

I hope you're week goes by quick! Are you going to be busy? That usually helps

  14. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@sslm: I'm pretty busy at work this week so it should definitely help make the week fly by. You're so close! I'm only 5 DPO, so I feel like I have forever to go.

  15. sslm

    cantaloupe / 6397 posts

Definitely couldn't hold off... 12 DPO - BFN... but the test I bought was apparently 100 whatever units of sensitivity... so I am not super discouraged yet!!

@mrskc: We're almost cycle twins...I'm at 6dpo I'll keep my fingers crossed that your TWW flies by!

Raaarr I feel like the next week is going to drag! And next month, DH is going to be away at a bachelor party when I"m supposed to O, so I'm really really hoping that this month was it...but at the same time, my chart isn't giving me much reason to be positive

    @sslm: good luck!!!

@sslm: Do you know how long your typical LP is?

Who else is still in for mid-Feb? I'm 5 DPO and I might test on the 13th on CD 36. My last cycle was 35 days. I don't know if I can hold off though. I ordered a 50 pack of cheap pregnancy tests last week off Amazon. They should be here by Thursday.

  18. hilsy85

@mrskc: good luck! Af is due for me EXACTLY on the 14th, lol...talk about a crummy V day present!

@hilsy85: Thank you! Good luck to you as well cycle twin! I hope we both have good news on V day.

@mrskc: It's usually 15-16 days! I'm really not all that discouraged. Now I really need to hold out for AF!

  21. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

Uh oh. 50 pregnancy tests arrived in my mailbox today. Some one tell me to step away... I'm going to have to wait until Sunday or Monday.

  22. sslm

    cantaloupe / 6397 posts

@mrskc: lol!! I'm waiting for my box of 25 but apparently to ship to Canada I have to wait 3 weeks! If I had them now I'd be peeing on 2/day! Only a few more days until Sunday though hang in there!

My temp went up today, the highest it's been this TWW! I'm hoping that's a good sign

  24. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@sslm: logically I know 6 DPO is WAY too early. Hopefully these next few days goes by fast. Sunday I'll only be 10 DPO but I'll probably test anyways. Temp going up is a good sign! If AF was coming it would drop.

@hilsy85: i know! me too - mine also due on 14th! bummer for vday

@mrskc: hopefully this will totally be your month and now you'll just have 45+ hpts sitting around!

ps - i also just got a ton in the mail from amazon... going to wait until at least sunday

Well, not exactly a Valentine's Day POAS, but I'm finally in the TWW! At 1DPO, I'm supposed to test on Feb 21 (14DPO). AF due on Feb 20 (13DPO). I was bummed because we skipped BD the day I got a positive OPK (2 days ago), but hopefully made up for it yesterday. We'll see...

  28. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@hellobeeboston: I sure hope so. Good luck to you! We'll both be testing Sunday.

@GreenThumb: Yay or Oing! Fingers crossed!

Anyone else feel more relaxed after O? I'm feeling more excited and anxious. But before I O'd, I was so stressed. I think it's b/c I don't know my cycles very well and they've been at least 35 days long. I was taking OPKs for almost two weeks before I saw a positive, and I was worried I was never going to O. Now that I'm in the TWW, I feel like it's out of my hands. And I can relax with the BDing.

  30. GreenThumb

    pear / 1986 posts

@mrskc: I definitely feel more relaxed/excited. Before O'ing I always feel like I have to work the system - OPKs, BD schedule, etc. After, like you said, it is out of our hands so we just have to hope, wait and see.

@mrskc - I feel the exact same way! TWW tests my patience, why waiting to O tests my stress levels. Now in the tww, I can finally relax a bit.

I'm feeling like a b*tch and a half today, so I have a feeling I'm about to be OUT, ladies Best of luck to all!!

  33. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@mrskc: I actually can't decide which is worse for me...waiting to O, or the TWW. While I"m waiting to o, I'm super antsy and impatient, and like, you, I have a fear that I won't O, or we'll miss it, etc. But then in the TWW I feel like I'm over analyzing every little detail--I get so annoyed with myself, lol. I just need to learn to shut off my brain

  34. sslm

    cantaloupe / 6397 posts

I definitely find waiting to O first because it's way longer than two weeks for me, usually.

Ok my temp went up a little this morning!!! Eee!! Still not testing until Saturday. I promised DH I wouldn't waste anymore money. I have 25 wondfos coming who knows when, I can test more next cycle lol.

    How's everyone today?

  35. mrskc

    bananas / 9357 posts

@sslm: Doing ok. Temp still staying up. I'm am so freakin nervous though. 7 DPO today and my pregnancy tests are starting to call me. I know it's WAY too early to test, but I'm still tempted.

    @mrskc: hang in there!!!!!

  37. hellobeeboston

    honeydew / 7235 posts

@sslm: for the past 3 months I've been cramping around O. I don't know why all of a sudden, but it's very noticeable!

on a side note, I would say i'm 99.99% sure I'm not preggo this month, i probably won't even POAS....there's no way, i feel 100% normal, and we didn't BD enough. oh well!

I'm starting to feel bummed out that it isn't going to happen this month. I started feeling crampy today. This exact same thing happened last month a few days before AF showed up. I'm only 7 DPO. It's too early for cramps. Looks like I might have another short LP. I won't give up all hope until AF shows up. I'm just not feeling as optimistic.

@mrskc: Its not too early for implantation cramps!! 7DPO is prime implantation time! Don't give up yet!
