I know there are a few of us out there who are just beginning the TWW, or still waiting to ovulate (me!), and are expecting AF around Valentine's Day.
I know I'd love to surprise DH with a BFP on Valentine's Day, instead of a box of chocolate, lol.

Oooh, I'm in! I'm still waiting to O, and as this is my first cycle off BC, I'm not really sure when it will happen, but I should get AF by Valentine's Day, so that's when I'll plan to POAS (unless AF shows up first...)!

@redsmarties: Oh yikes, cycle 12. How do you stay positive?? I'm not even through cycle 1 and I'm already sick of it, haha!
I'm CD16, Cycle 1. As it's my first cycle off BC, I'm not sure when I'll O, but I suspect the end of this week or beginning of next.

@Adira: I think after about cycle 7 or 8, seeing a BFN every month stopped completely gutting me. Once I hit the one year mark, I think I just relaxed a little: I've realized that this is out of my control, and there's nothing else I can do to control the situation.
Also, I'm seeing an RE, who has given us some awesome tips and tricks to try before we go the more invasive route...IF we go the more invasive route. I'm not content with their 'unexplained infertility' diagnosis, so I'll do what I can, and stay positive.Plus, I bake for a living...so I'm a stress-snacker. When AF shows, you can bet there's a pan of brownies in the oven.

@redsmarties: Oooooh, baking brownies for AF is such a good idea! I might start doing that! At least I'll have something to look forward to, haha.
I'm curious, do you do charting at all?

@Adira: Brownies for AF are the only way I get through, haha.
And yes, I chart: temperatures, OPKs, CM, all that good stuff. Taking a break from it this month, because I lost my thermometer while on vacation, and I've been drinking too much water to OPK correctly. But generally speaking, yes. -
I guess I'll be POAS around that time! AF due around the 17th...

I'm on CD 13, I usually O around CD 19 or so...

Anyone doing anything different this cycle? Im drinking green tea and haven't really noticed a difference yet. And I hate how it tastes, yuck. Anyone else that hates green tea but is drinking it anyway?

@hilsy85: I drink green tea now, and I found it really helps. I didn't think I would like how it tastes, so I bought a few types of green tea. My favourites now are Niagara Peach Green Tea and Earl Grey Green tea. They kind of mask that grassy? flavour and make it enjoyable. Also, I drink 1-2 cups per day from CD1 - O, and found it really helped with my CM. (TMI...sorry)
The only thing I'm doing differently this cycle is NOTHING. I mean it, I'm not temping, charting, OPKing, nothing. It started when I lost my thermometer on vacation. And because I'm following a BD schedule from my RE, there's not much need to OPK, because I'm covered from CD10 until AF shows up. Its oddly relaxing...I like it! (But I'll be buying a new thermometer as soon as I can, lol)

@redsmarties: @hilsy85: I am taking a B vitamin along with my pre-natal...hoping that will help make my LP a little longer.
I actually started temping this month to try it out, but of course, we're going to be across the country on a little trip right around the time of O, so with the time difference, and vacation, temping this month was probably a bad idea! i also keep waking up at 4am for some reason and taking a little while to fall back asleep which I think is throwing off my temp. anyway - it's kindof a lot, so i think i may just stop for now, chill out and have fun

@hellobeeboston: I found myself waking up early every morning, so I just went with it. Now I set my alarm for 4:00 am, I take my temperature, and then I fall right back asleep. However, most mornings I'm up at 5:00 anyway, so if I forget to temp at 4:00, there isn't a huge difference when I wake up for good.

i'm on CD 10, in cycle #5 - i think i'm amping myself up a little too much to have a valentine's day BFP, but its been big in my DH and my relationship - he first told me he loved me on v day, and we got engaged on v day, a BFP on valentine's would be too perfect

@redsmarties: Hmm...is that like the tea bags with extra flavoring in them? Because I've found that if I can do mint green tea it tastes WAY better..but then I though that maybe I was losing some of the helpful qualities. But it seems like that's not the case for you! Good for you for relaxing and taking it easy

I might be joining you ladies on this board. CD 17 and still no O. At least I don't think I have. Using the Clearblue digital OPK this month, and haven't got a smiley face. Been feeling crampy for over a week. I'm tired of long cycles.

@mrskc: I'm honestly not sure. This is my first cycle off BC. I think before I went on BC (7 or 8 years ago...) they were around 33-35 days, so I'm expecting something similar. I hope yours is also shorter this time around! Long cycles suck.

@hilsy85: Yeah, the ingredients on the tea bags should read 'green tea' and then 'natural or artificial flavours'. I think that once you get into blends (with other herbs added) it might not be as effective, but for me, the peach and earl grey green teas have been working great.
Just saw a ginger green tea that I'm dying to try, but DH would kill me if I came home with ANOTHER tea. -
I'm going to ahead and join. What the heck! I'm CD21 and I think it's possible I O'd yesterday. Because I don't know for sure I think valentine's day would be a good day to test if AF doesn't come. That would put me 19 DPO and means if I get a negative I won't convince myself it's wrong

I think I might've O'd but I'm not sure... being cycle 1 makes it hard, haha.
This week my temperatures have been: 97.48, 97.72, 97.48, 97.98, and 97.84.
I'm really confused because those last two temps seem high for me, but I also woke up in the middle of the night both nights, so I think that could be why they are high. The 97.84 was also taken at 4:00 a.m. instead of my usual 6:30. At 6:30, I was 98.19, but I think that's because of the middle-of-the-night wake-up. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if the temp is still high...

Still no positive OPK. CD 19 today. I feel like I should O soon. More CM and lots of dull cramps. Is it possible to never get a positive for the digital OPK and still O?

Still no positive OPK for me (or temperature spike), but today's CD18, and I usually O between CD17 and CD20. So, who knows...might be soon.
If I DO O today or tomorrow, that'll put me at testing right on Valentine's Day (I have long LPs).How's everyone else feeling?

@redsmarties: I think they're staying up... it's hard to tell because I keep waking up in the middle of the night and so I'm temping at the wrong time. This morning I was 97.81 at 5:15 am. I didn't wake up at my normal time to retake my temp either. Fertility Friend thinks I ovulated, so maybe I did!

I'm really hoping I O'd because my boobs are so sore and that's usually my sign! We BD this morning just in case. My doctor said since my cycles are all over the place we should BD every second day until I get AF basically. My DH really liked this advice

Also, I've been having some AF like cramps, I'm wondering if that's part of ovulating too? Anyone?

@sslm: I've read that you can experience mild cramping during ovulation, but I've never experienced that myself, so I'm not sure. I hope you O'd and are on your way to a BFP!

@sslm: I always get cramps and twinges around O, for about four days or so. Hope this is it for you!

@redsmarties: You mentioned that the RE had given you some tips for this month in terms of BD schedule. What did they recommend relative to when you usually O? I still feel like I can't figure out if we aren't doing it enough... too much... too soon... too late... etc. I usually O on CD 12 or 13.

@GreenThumb: Well, here's what the RE told me. I usually ovulate on CD18-20, so you'll have to adjust things. She told me to abstain for three or four days before CD14, and then BD every other day from CD14 to CD24 or so. So for you, O-ing around CD13, it might look like this:
Abstain from CD4-7, then BD CD7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19. That way, you're totally covered. I know that the post-O BDing doesn't matter much at all, but she wanted to be sure that in case I O-ed later, we caught it. She was also very specific about abstaining to begin with, and only BDing every other day.Hope this helps!

CD 20 here. Still no positive OPK. I guess that doesn't mean I didn't ovulate. So frustrating not knowing if I've ovulated or not. Next month, I'm going to try charting my temp. Last cycle was 35 days and I was really hoping this one was going to be shorter. We are BDing every other day just to make sure we don't miss it.
