Hi Bees- First time poster but long time lurker!
I am jumping WAY ahead of myself here (we are about 1 year out of TTC with secondary fertility issues after 3 years of playing the if it happens, it happens game) but I thought I would begin my journey here with a question that has been on my mind a lot lately.
My first pregnancy & delivery with my 10yr old DS was a nightmare. I had hypermesis and was very ill during the first 8 months of my pregnancy- in and out of the hospital like it was my second home. Delivery ended in an emergency C-section as they lost my DS heartbeat- which thankfully ended with a delivery of a perfectly healthy DS. A few days after my c-section, my incision (TMI alert!) busted open from end to end due to an infection. I was down on bedrest for 12 weeks following my delivery and had to be packed with 6 feet of gauze 3x daily. I can honestly say it was an experience I never want to re-live! It was horrifying!
Maybe you can understand why I have waited so long to consider a sibling for my DS!
With that said, of course I will be discussing this with my DR when the time comes- but I am curious if anyone on this board was able to have a successful VBAC after C-section that became infected. I have a lot of scar tissue and have read that this may prevent me from being allowed to attempt a VBAC. I obviously want to do whatever is best for my child when (and if!) the time comes- but I would looooove to think that I could be given the opportunity to attempt a VBAC if possible.
Please share your experiences! Thank you!!
