Just for fun. What’s your view right now / what are you doing to fill the endless hours at home? DW and I are splitting the work day so she’s working right now and I am in my son’s room reading news on his bed while he plays paw patrol on the floor.

@wrkbrk: well first of all I love that room!
Right now DS gets some iPad time while the littles nap and I make dinner. I SAH but I’ve been doing more of a preschool routine in the morning to give our day some structure since we can’t do our normal preschool/errand/leave the house routine. After lunch I’ve been filling the void before naps with a looooong bath time. Today I dumped in a bunch of dinosaurs and it kept them entertained for awhile.

Youngest is napping on the couch, oldest is going an i-ready lesson for school and I’m getting some work done.

@LadyDi: Thank you!! And great idea on the bath. I think I’ll add a “themed” bath for the agenda for tomorrow ...
Today was the longest day ever and yet the least amount of my work got accomplished 🤷♀️

@wrkbrk: thanks! I love the clock even though it hasn’t worked in at least 5 years... 🤣

It’s madness. DD1 and I are trying to work, and DD2 is building an elaborate obstacle course (which we then all had to take turns doing).

This is a major mess, but we got through all the schoolwork between 9am-10:30am, and then my girls (6.5 and almost 4) basically let me work uninterrupted the rest of the day. On the table is a laptop and some schoolwork, various coloring books, dry erase “find it” books, watercolors and wet watercolor paintings, random drawings, little plastic tea cups full of water, and markers and colored pencils. This took tops 10 minutes to clean so it was well worth it for a day of uninterrupted work (which I do upstairs in my very clean bedroom since I can’t work in the chaos).

The view of every day this week - my husband used the Nugget to turn our basement stairs into a slide/mountain. The boys love it, they’ve spent hours on it, but getting things out of the basement like food from the freezer or the crockpot is a total nightmare.

@erinbaderin: omg that looks so fun!! We had to tell our kids that sliding down the basement bannister was not an acceptable mode of transport! 🤣🤣

This is my view most days (which I love) but I had big plans for my maternity leave to get everyone out and about. My almost 4 year old doesn't understand having to stay home and not being able to go to the zoo, aquarium, or science center.

DH and I trade work and kid hours. This is from my kid time this morning. I love the warm weather!

It snowed late Monday night into Tuesday morning but then was in the high fifties the rest of yesterday. DD made three snowmen. I snapped the first picture yesterday afternoon - it seemed fitting for my overall mood. Second picture is today, it’s a bit cooler today but at least the sun is out.
