Does anyone have any favorite recipes for a vitamix? We just got one and are not sure what to make.

I would love to hear some too!!
DH uses it to make himself smoothies with protein powder. I used it for DS to make various purees, sunflower butter and we got a dry blade to mill our own quinoa flour. But everything we useit for is still very basic.

@MrsH: didn't the vitamix come with a recipe book? When I saw it demo-ed in Costco, I thought they said it came with a recipe book.
Anyway, I tried a really good tortilla soup during the demo. I don't know what all the ingredients were but you could try to find an online version.
BTW, I'm so jealous. I want one.
I used my blender yesterday and I could tell my blender won't last much longer. I've only used it about less than 20 times over the past 3 years.

@MrsH: have you seen this website from a Vitamix demonstrator? Tons of information. Lots of recipes, tips and videos. I have yet to actually try them but they sound good! http://blenderlady.com/

In order or first to last. Orange or orange juice, banana, ice cubes, spinach, and optional agave. I think I added in milk in one version. I got the idea from the demo guy. LO and I tank it!

I make almond butter in mine. Far superior to store-bought almond butters!
Roast almonds @ 350 for 10 minutes
Blend
That's it!
It can take awhile to figure out the best speeds to get it going, but it's smooth sailing after that.
I've made chocolate, chocolate coconut, salted, honey maple

I just bought mine last week and have tried the mango yogurt frozen dessert from the cookbook. I also love the green smoothie that Mrs. Pen posted and it's even better made in the vitamix. I'll have to try making banana swirl soon (frozen bananas blended and add some cocoa and/or peanut butter). I've made it in the food processor but it's probably much easier with the vitamix

@MrsH: Ooohhh - you're on to something!
The best thing about making almond butter is the smoothie you make after taking as much out as you can get! The lady at the demo told me the easiest way to clean nut butters out of the blender was to make a smoothie with it!

So after two solid weeks of use my favorite thing to make so far is still a green smoothie. 1/2 an apple, a couple strawberries, some thawed tart cherries, a hunk of ginger and then a couple of cups of greens (so far I like parsley, kale, spinach, and a baby herb blend). Sometimes I add in greek yogurt or almond milk or an orange to add liquid to the smoothie. The ginger really gives it a spice that I adore.
I did try making a tomato soup which would have been fine but I don't think I seasoned it enough and I also made a lime sorbet that had spinach, ice, and agave in it(also yummy).
@yin: Have you made any other yummy things?
