I just found my LO in her crib sound asleep with throw up everywhere. Thank goodness I checked on her randomly. I woke her up and gave her a bath and changed all her sheets. Her ear thermometer said 95.4 but I think sometimes it reads on the lower side so I'm not entirely sure it's accurate. She was in an okay mood and wanted lots of water. I put her back down and she seems to be falling asleep but I'm worried.

Are the ears supposed to read that low?
Did she seem sick today or did you give her anything new to eat?

@sunny: I'm not sure about ear thermometers. We've had it forever and it always reads lower than rectal by a few degrees. She seemed fine and happy all day and no new foods. She's 18 months so she's had pretty much everything by now. We ate Mexican for dinner, but dh and I feel fine.

@yellowbird: Oh weird. Maybe its broken because this article says that ear temps usually measure higher than oral temps. And a normal oral temp is 98.6 F.

@sunny: it probably is! I wanted to do rectal but she has a yeasty rash and I didn't want to mess with that, so I will in the morning if she's still sick.

My DD had a stomach bug for about 24 hrs. She vomited a couple times but otherwise seemed her normal self. Hope LO feels better soon!

My pedi has always told me that if I ever get a low consistent reading temp to call in. Hope she feels better soon!

She just woke up talking from her crib and asking for water. Her temp is 98.5 from the ear. Hopefully she's on the mend!
