Has anyone painted an indoor wall mural? What paint did you use?
And I'd love to see photos for inspiration

I wouldn't consider mine a mural, but I painted a multicolor pattern on my son's wall and stripes in DDs nursery. I just used regular wall paint though.
I have painted a mural (in high school) however. Also used regular paint, for durability.

@ValentineMommy: oh, interesting! Somehow I never thought of that. I wonder how well it works with small details... I don't have the skills or the patience to paint anything big!

I haven't painted a wall mural recently, but I often use interior latex to paint canvases...it's largely because I am not so great at paint mixing and sometimes, I need to cover a large area, so I'd rather have consistent color.
You can get a projector, hook it up to a computer and beam the image on the wall, then you're basically tracing.

@peaches1038: Thank you!
@Mrs. Champagne: Yes, both pics are mine. How cool that you used it for inspiration for your painter! My personal blog is a DIY home decor blog.

@Mrs. Washi Tape: too funny, I also used the star wall and blogpost as my inspiration in LO2's nursery

This was DS nursery. He's 4.5 now and I just don't want to paint over it!

@Mama Bird: It definitely works for fine details. I did a knight on a horse on my high school wall. FWIW, my degree is in painting

@looch: oh cool, I like the projector idea!
@Mrs. Washi Tape: that's so pretty! I love it!
@bushelandapeck: that's lovely! I wouldn't want to paint over it either! But it really doesn't look that out of place in an older child's bedroom... maybe it doesn't quite work for a teen though

http://imgur.com/gallery/U5yhW is amazing. I love the style and the sheer amount of artwork involved!
I especially love this water and whale scene:
