I had ds1 in frigid November and was stir crazy during our winter months... I was ready to go back to work at 12 weeks! Esp w my mom watching him and working from home two days a week!
This time I' took two extra weeks, my mom is still our primary care, ds1 is in preschool, I work from home 3-4 days a week and I've been dreading going back! Tomorrow is my first day! I'm not nervous or anything but just really really sad...

I dreaded going back but it was easier for me. I knew what to expect with work and daycare.

I think I dreaded going back more because I enjoyed the time more. I had fewer worries this time (although I'm only one week in). Both times I was so busy my first month back I had no time for worries in the office.

@mrsjyw: good luck mama! I went back three weeks ago and I was definitely sad. I think my second leave was easier so it is harder to be back although of course I miss them both. We are still getting into the groove of getting our the door in the morning with two so I am trying to be patient with myself. Hope you can do the same!

I go back in 5 weeks and while I'm not as worried as last time since we have a great child care arrangement and I know DS will be in good hands, I'm dreading the exhaustion I know is coming! Especially getting everyone up and ready and out the door in the morning and getting dinner on the table in the evening 
I feel like it took awhike to get into a routine last time and afraid it will be even harder with 2!

@MamaCate: yes! I 110% enjoyed and savored every day of my leave this time which is why I think I'm so sad it's over. But alas, life goes on and we will enjoy our new normal soon!

I enjoyed my second maternity leave much more, but it was definitely easier to go back to work. No crying on my part and I knew what to expect. I was getting back to my "real" life.

It was harder to leave my older DS after my 2nd maternity leave because he had really gotten used to the time home and at less than 2 years old had already forgotten what it was like for me to be working. It was easier to leave the baby because my inlaws were taking care of him and it was the same set up as the first time so I knew he would be fine. Good luck!

Worse the second time. I enjoyed my maternity leave 100x more and I hated my job so much. But now it's ok!

I'm sorry... I hope your first day back goes smoothly! I'm sure your LOs will have a great time with grandma, but it's so hard to leave them.
