I was eerily similar! She had me first, and I had a girl first. Both sick for most of our pregnancies, and didn't gain too much. She had me a couple weeks early and I went on my due date, but we both had extremely short labor and deliveries.

She got to the hospital too late for an epidural and had me naturally, I got to the hospital and triage didn't believe my pain level (don't get me started) so I dilated to 10 before they even got me a room. BUT, I got the epidural before pushing

I'm only 21 weeks, so I can't say... But my older sisters already told me not to get my hopes up. My mom was a freak who never had menstrual cramps in her life, didnt have a day of morning sickness in any of her pregnancies, had very easy/ short labors, and had 6 of us because it was so "easy".

My sisters had normal-to-difficult labors and births, and so far I've had the worst morning sickness of anyone in my family---24/7 and unrelenting from week 6 to week 17. So....looks like I'm already not following in her footsteps.

My mom loves to tell the story about how when I was born, the nurse came in the room for a check and had to tell my mom the baby was crowning, because my mom was feeling no contractions. Without an epidural. And I was out 30 minutes later. Sigh.

Not at all like my moms. But i am six inches taller. Mom was sick for all 9 months with me. I had just a few phases of mild nausea in the beginning and have felt a lot better my whole pregnancy than she did-I have been active and she wasn't at all. Delivery wise, I was an emergency c section because I didn't drop but my dr says everything is on track for a vaginal delivery so far! Mom says stuff like "oh you're so lucky, I had xyz go on" so they've been very different

I had very similar pregnancies, but different birth experiences. My mom had early (a month or more early), fast births and mine were both born at 39 weeks after 12 hours labor. I had preety easy births, though, so no complaining here!

I asked my midwife this question recently (in relation to L&D specifically, not pregnancy as a whole), and she said that in her experience you're more likely to have a similar experience to your mum if you have the same build/body type.

So far (I'm 35.5 weeks) my pregnancy has been almost identical to my mum's (I'm her only child/pregnancy). We were both blessed with easy pregnancies, high energy, very minimal morning sickness and next to no other issues/discomforts.

I hope that my L&D ends up being as easy hers, which her doctor described as textbook. She went into labour around 7:30 am, got to the hospital by early afternoon and I was born at 5:15 pm. Fingers crossed I will be as lucky!

I was just talking about this with my mom today and I am really embarrassed to admit that I can't remember what she said. Pregnancy brain has kicked in for me at 25 weeks! I'll have to ask her again tomorrow.

Apparently, in the way that I had crazy, crazy sickness and put on a shit ton of weight. I don't know about labour as I had a planned c-section.

nope i was born late and i was teeny tiny still. charlie came on his due date and was a pretty big boy. she had 2 natural births while i had a c-section and vbac and can't imagine how i would have done it without an epidural!
