With a mobile little one I prefer the second, reversible style (open foot?). But the first one will be easier with diaper changes and the double zipper.

I would get boots that could be cinched at the top and then pull the legs of the snow suit down and overtop.

We had an Obermeyer bunting for DS which is another ski brand. It never snowed so we never had the chance to use it, but my friend, who gets a lot of snow and cold weather, had one for her daughter and loved it. You can usually save on the top brands by getting last years colors/styles and shopping those deal/overstock sites.

@shopaholic: We got ours from Seirra Trading Post. With coupon codes and the already lower price I think we paid like $30 for a $100 snow suit, which was great since it didn't get used Also 6pm has them. Backcountry.com has some Patagonia ones around $50.
