Vi just had three more teeth pop in (five total now) and all of the sudden, instead of chewing on her toys, she's taken to biting. As in, lunging for my arm with her mouth wide open, and sinking her teeth in, hard.
I have little teeth marks all over my body. She woke me up this morning by biting me... on the butt.
Is this normal? What should I do?

So far I've just been pulling her away and saying "No, don't bite. Gentle please." But she just laughs.

Sounds totally normal! My daughter went through a biting phase and nothing I did helped - ignoring her and giving zero response had the most luck; everything else elicited laugher and more biting. Hope it's a phase that passes soon!

R has 5 teeth and has biten me a handful of times as well. I just told her No, we don't bite. She hasn't done in over two weeks now.......
At least she isn't biting during nursing! Or is she?

I think it is normal. One of my friends had bruises all over her shoulder from her LO! Our pedi said say no biting frimly and to put LO down when they do that and walk away so they get that biting is an undesirable behavior.

Normal! We stopped the "raspberries" and kissing all over her when we were in this stage. She still will tell us sometimes when we blow raspberries on her belly to stop biting (we are clearly not biting her).

i think it is pretty normal. the "gentle" reminders and redirection are good practice even if the message isn't quite sinking in yet.

So, I got a call this morning that my LO (14 months) had bit 2 other kids in her room. She's got 5 teeth coming in at once, so I know that's it. Daycare was very nice about it... I'm not sure what to do other than what was listed here - say no biting and put her down.

Another one for normal and to redirect the biting to reinforce it is not good behavior. your LO is just testing out the new chompers and figuring out what they do

K has only tried to bite me once so far - on the knee and I was wearing jeans. When she tries to gnaw on my hand or fingers, I will give her something else to bite/chew on.
