I know that all the sleep research says to avoid sleep crutches, but what has worked for our family for the last 10 months was that I nurse the twins to sleep each night. We honestly don't have a bedtime routine other than PJs and hop up on the nursing pillow. Around 4/5 months we tried to do a bedtime story but that was a big flop.

This routine has worked for us so far - but as we are headed toward the one year mark, I'm realizing that this is something we are going to have to adjust. I was wondering if anyone has been in these shoes before? Nurse to sleep then transition to regular bedtime routine. Any advice? It feels like a big scary hurdle.

Basically all I can find on google says don't do this in the first place- oops.

I WOH and our evenings right now involve me getting home and nursing them about 4pm, small amount of playtime serving them dinner in their high chairs, wash hands (and body) in sink, put on PJs, possibly 10 minutes of playtime but more often a melt down is occurring and we get situated on the nursing pillow at 6/6:15 to nurse to sleep.
