Don't know where you are or what physical stores you have access to but I'd suggest department stores since it sounds like you would be OK with just dressier clothes vs a tux. Some thoughts I have are (know some are probably regional but they all have websites): Kohls, Macys, Dillards, JCP.

My nephew went to a wedding in July when he was 11m and my Aunt bought him the cutest little shorts/shirt/jacket set pretty reasonable at JCP (if I recall correctly).

I always have the best luck at Macy's or JCP for stuff like that and for a decent price. Actually, you'd be surprised, but eBay has some good stuff, too.

Check amazon. There might be some options there that aren't too expensive.

@mrs_t: if you're willing to spend a little more, try crewcuts and jcrew. they have a great selection and good quality. we usually end up buying the actual clothes at babygap and then accessories (bowties, suspenders, hats) at other places. american apparel has great suspenders for little kids -- cb has black ones and he wears them all the time!
