My brother and I were super duper close growing up. We're only a year apart and my parents moved to America for a year before we did when we were 2 and 3, so we had to be close. Starting in jr high we fought, and we fought a lot in high school, but we always remained close and are still close to this day.
I hope Charlie and Olive remain as close!

I have 4 sisters, and they are all 9+ years older and younger than me. I had horrible relationships with my older siblings, but I was on good terms with my younger sister. Now we all get along, especially since we all have kids. Not BFF status but better than before when we were enemies.

My brother and I are 13.5 years apart, and surprisingly we became best friends. I think helping to raise him gave us a close bond 
I think our sibling relationship is unique though

We got along. I loved helping take care of him when he was a baby (I was 4.5 years older). But we fought a lot and he got on my nerves once we were both in school. We weren't BFFs and we're not that close now.

oh yes! he's 18 months older than me, we were the best of friends until about fifth grade. we kind of drifted apart during our teens and early twenties, but we've become closer again as we've gotten older

Yep! We're 20 months apart, bffs growing up and bffs now. Next to Dh, he's the one I go to w every bit of (interesting) news in my life. We fought mostly in hs when I went through a rebellious stage, but even still remained close. Love my baby bro

not even a little biT. We're nearly 4 years apart, I'm a little rough around the edges and he's pretty sensitive so there's a huge personality difference there. I like a lot of personal space and he always wanted to do everything with me and I screamed at him a lot. We only get along now because we don't live together. he's a great guy, just not my cup of tea I guess.

Definitely. My brother and I were 2 years apart and very close. We also had a cousin around our age who stayed with us a lot, so she was like a 3rd sibling and we were all best friends. My cousin and I are still very close as adults, but my brother is a major workaholic and has trouble maintaining relationships that aren't work-related, so we don't really talk that much. He's still incredibly important to me though.

Played a bit because we are so close in age (sister is 15 months younger than me, brother 22 months younger than her) but we fought in school and highschool.
We talk daily in a group chat with my mom too but we aren't super close. I love them though.

Yes and no! My sister and I fought a lot but were constantly playing together/shared friends because we are so close in age. My brother was 4ish years younger so we weren't as close but as adults the three of us get along really well. My siblings are the best! I want to have three kids now so my kids can have that too.

No. He's nearly 8 years younger than me and I wasn't too pleased about getting a sibling, especially not a brother. Our personalities are pretty different, too. As adults, we like each other a lot more and actually have more stuff in common, but we're still not close.

I have five siblings and varying levels of relationships with them. No bad relationships at all though, so that's pretty amazing
I am closest with my little brother. There is a three year gap. We were always close growing up, though there was a bit of a disconnect through my teen years because of the age gap. We're still really close.
I'm also close with my littlest sister- but in a different way, because there's a 15 year age gap!

I guess in the sense that we played together a lot and didn't fight that much. We are still relatively close, but not like, calling each other every day close. I think most of it is because, as adults, we have similar personalities and similar ways of seeing the world.

20 months older than my brother. We were great friends as young kids but fought a lot through the teen years. To put it mildly, he was a very rebellious teen/young adult. He eventually settled down and has his own family and we're all very close now. It is the greatest relief of my life!

I was the youngest of 4 and not close with any of my siblings to the point of calling them a BFF. I did sometimes hang out with my brother and our neighbors ( a boy his age and a girl my age) but that was it.

Yes, my sister is almost three years younger than I am and I would consider her my bff. We constantly played together as kids and are probably closer now than we were back then. Sure we had disagreements but we could never stay mad at the other for very long.

No. Not at all. My brother and I were 17 months apart. We fought like mortal enemies and either one of us would have sold the other to the circus for pennies. Many, many trips to the ER. I never imagined that we could grow up to be friends but we are.

Not BFFs, but we got along. I was probably closest to my brother that's 22 months older than me--we were pretty close, actually. As an adult, I keep in touch the most with my younger sister, second older sister, and the same brother (be he's always living in some far off place, so I rarely actually see him).

OH gosh no, 3 girls...so much drama! My older sister and I didn't get along until she went away to college, my younger sister and I it was the same, when I moved away (maybe even like 19-20 before we got along.) and honestly her and I still get annoyed with each other in our late 20s. I'm much closer with my older sister now.

Absolutely not 
I had one sister--2 year age difference--and we fought pretty much from the minute she was born (legitimately!) until after my first year of college. We would always set up these elaborate pretend games and then never actually get to play them because we would get in huge fights before playing them. We also had the same hobbies, did the same extracurriculars, and had the same groups of friends, so that made it really tough because we were ALWAYS around each other and always competing with each other. But then my sister ended up going to the same college as me and we ended up becoming very close then. Now I consider her one of my closest friends...but we definitely weren't for 19 years!

My brother and I were close growing up (3.5 year gap, I'm older), but I felt like I was more of a second mother figure than a friend? We aren't super close but would do anything for each other. We are just in different stages of life right now.

No- the age gaps were too big. My sister is 9 years older and my brother is 4 years younger. That's why I wanted my kids to be around 2 years apart.

Nope! I am 8 years older than my brother and sister, so we weren't really on the same page. Now that I'm 26, and they are 18 we have been getting a lot closer though!

Yes - my younger sister and I are 19 months apart, and we shared a room up until we were 10. We had the same friends because we were so close in age (I was annoyed by that at the same time too though), but I remember us sharing a room, and always crawling under each other's blankets, whispering with our heads against each other in our respective beds, building forts, creating faux tree houses, and doing a ton of things together. When our parents would fight, we would sit huddled on the stairs trying to listen in on what was going on. We fought a lot too though because we were so close in age and were more like peers than older/younger siblings.
We went through a period of not being close in middle school and high school, but a lot went on bc I was so rebellious, and then my dad passed away. Our family kinda fell apart. We started getting close again after I left for college, and we're really close now that we both have kids and are in the same life stage again! We don't call each other everyday and she is not the first person I'd share all my secrets too (that role goes to DH and my BFF)... but she is always someone I can turn to to vent about family or talk through my insecurities, weaknessses, and doubts.
