Not completely surprised. I knew we would get married some day. I just didn't know when he would ask and it was informal, almost as though he had said "do you want to get a cup of coffee?".

I was even though he surprised me with a trip to Italy. That seemed like the perfect time to propose. But then he did it when I was caught up with taking pics of the vineyards so I was really surprised at that moment!

Yes and no because his mom eluded to the fact he'd propose during Christmas. I just didn't know when.

Nope. We actually had already started planning the wedding before he proposed. He had a ring custom made and it took forever to get it. Once he did get the ring, he was leaving for NJ for work for 3 months, so I knew he had to propose on Saturday or Sunday. (Sidebar- We lived together and had been dating for 5 years)

NO, he had accidentally dropped a few hints and so I went ahead and got my nails done... you know, just in case I tried to tell myself I was wrong because I knew if would SUCK if I got my hopes up, but I was right anyway!

Yep! Although we'd been talking about the proposal and I knew he was planning it, I had NO idea when it actually happened.

It was on the final walk through the night before closing on our home. I was scrubbed in jeans and a tee and he was in a casual button down. I was so consumed with house stuff I didn't even notice his "outfit" which should have been my first clue. LOL Anyway, he proposed in the last room we ended up in (our master bedroom) while I was fervently writing away in our notepad... he had our realtor video tape the proposal

I was and I wasn't. We knew that we were going to get married, and my grandmother had given me her ring for when the time was right. We had gone on vacation and had some romantic moments and DH was sorry that he didn't have the ring with him, so when we got back we had it resized. He was trying to come up with a good way to propose and didn't intend to do it for a while though.

Every time we went somewhere or he suggested something for the first few days I was like "OMG is this it?!" not realizing his top contender idea would've been for something in August and it was March, lol. But then one night we ended up having a really emotional talk about us and he was so overcome that he decided he couldn't wait any more and ran to the safe and pulled out the ring. I was in shock and kept asking if he was sure as he was kneeling down.

It wasn't planned, it was in our bedroom of all places, and on some level I knew it was coming - but it was still an amazingly romantic surprise.

Sort of but not really...my Dad gave me my rings a month earlier. We had them sized. I was just waiting for him to do it already.

yes because even though we picked out a ring together a year prior, he totally had me believing that he still hadn't bought it yet. i was hoping he would get his act together by xmas and then he proposed on a camping trip labor day weekend! i loved it because when he had asked a couple of years prior how i wanted to be proposed to, i said i wanted it to be a surprise.
