We planned on being team green for LO #1 but that surprise got messed up. I am not currently pregnant but of course baby fever has me thinking of the near future 
I love the idea of a surprise, but also love to plan...so I am still on the fence about what we will do the next time around.
Were you ever team green? If you were not, will you consider it for future LO's? Why or why not?

I wasn't Team Green with LO. For a future pregnancy, I don't plan on it. I'm a planner and want to know what I'm in for-another boy or a girl (deluge of pink stuff).

I am waaayyyyy too much of a planner to ever be team green. I wish I could do it because I love the idea of the ultimate surprise, but I know I'd drive myself and my husband crazy!

My DH doesn't want to be team green, so we won't be. He feels that knowing the gender will help him grow attached to our unborn child. I love surprises, so I would have loved to be team green. We'll probably do a gender reveal party as a compromise.

I would like to be on team green with #1. DH would like to know, but I really like the idea of him telling me the sex in the delivery room.

My DH would love to be team green in the future. I'm not so sure. I'm going to want to buy clothes that aren't gender neutral (even though I know I don't need to buy many clothes!)

We want to be! It's funny because I always imagined we would find out and want to plan everything. But once we really thought of a good reason to be team green (not wanting to force a gender identity onto our child by pre-buying pink or blue things), we liked the idea a lot!

I was Team Green. Everyone I know was SHOCKED because I'm a serious type A planner. But I just feel like there are so few surprises left that I didn't want to miss out on that moment in the delivery room. We knew we would have more children so all the gear would be gender neutral anyway so we could use it again. I am 100% happy with my decision to wait to find out, and there was plenty of time after she was born to load up on pink stuff : )

I loved knowing what I was having-it helped me feel more connected and gave me the ability to visualize having a girl. We might do team green for a third if we have a boy next.

We were! I'm sure you remember all my reasons from chatting about it on WB! This next time DH wants to find out. We still plan on keeping it secret though & having a gender reveal sprinkle!

We are team green, and luckily, no surprises were spoiled during the ultrasounds! DH would prefer to find out for the same reason @pui: mentions-- he feel like he might bond better if he knew the sex. Of course, he didn't actually say that until after our last ultrasound so now it's too late anyway, but he is fine with waiting since I'm doing the hard work right now.
I'm excited for the big surprise at the end, plus I'm happy to get gender neutral stuff that we can use for a second kid either way anyway. Plus, I don't want a ton of super girly frilly stuff if it's a girl (though I'm SUCH a sucker for preppy little boy stuff). To me though, not finding out the sex really isn't that big of a deal. It helps that my sister and brother were both team green too (bonus- lots of newborn gender neutral hand me downs!)

@mediagirl: I was totally the kid who opened their presents before Christmas and am such a planner it's insane, but I was 100% on board with being team green. We had our 20 week ultrasound and successfully did not find out. We had to go in for another ultrasound at 25 weeks to check a few things that were missed at the previous ultrasound. We told the tech we did not want to know, we turned out heads and she turned the screen while she was checking the spine. She was almost done and I asked about LO's weight. She said "looking good, about the 26th percentile for a GIRL" oh my god my heart just dropped and I looked at DH but neither one of us said anything...we left and of course I was balling my eyes out because I was so upset. DH finally called the office back and said what happened and we went back in to get "pics of the bits" and a few fun photos to make up for it. The tech tried to deny what she said but it was so obvious. She said that was only the 2nd time in 12 years she has done that, "if in fact I did say that"...ahh it was such a bummer but we made the best of it and went and got some girl clothes then revealed it at the baby shower. DH says I have bad luck because my proposal got ruined too lol. I just can't be surprised!

@Foodnerd81: This was one of my reasons for wanting to as well! Luckily our shower was a few weeks after we had found out and we didn't reveal it until the shower so we got tons of necessities and gender neutral things

Well we already have a boy and I'm currently pregnant... I'm hoping this baby is a girl so that #3 can be team green! That's the only way I would ever do it!

I wasn't for either pregnancy. BUT, if by some odd miracle we have a third, I will push heavily to be team green. I wanted to with my current pregnancy, but DH was dead set against....

We weren't team green for our boys, but we plan to be team green for our next baby! It'll be our last so we thought it'd be a fun surprise for us and our kids.

I'm much, much too impatient to wait: I like to know as much as I can, as soon as I can! that's what makes me a good researcher (my job) in real life but also terrible at this tww thing, lol. But it won't be a matter of getting gender-appropriate clothing or gear though, bc I'll want to go neutral in those ways anyway. I just will want to know as much about the baby as possible. in my view, there are so many surprises anyway when the baby is born, like whether baby's hair is curly like mine or straight like dh's, or eyes brown like me or blue like dh, etc

Nope, we both are dyyying to know the sex! It's really starting to bother me, however, as it seems like EVERYONE has an opinion on why we SHOULDN'T find out. I get that people have differing opinions, but after you ask, and we tell you what we'll be doing, just drop it! They're all going on and on and on about how "it's way more fun to wait," "you'll never get to experience it again," etc. Blah. Stop.

We were team green both times and I would not change a thing. It added to the fun and excitement of pregnancy and birth!! Also it was practically better -- we got useful and unisex items both times and were able to reuse almost everything from our son with our daughter!
I doubt we'll do this baby thing again but if we do we'll be team green all the way!

I really wanted to be for DS but DH did not. Same thing for this LO. DH rarely gets excited about things until they are happening and isn't really into pregnancy in general, so if this is the one thing he requests and really has an opinion on I think I can live with finding out just to see him excited about something.

We were TG. I don't remember why it originally sounded fun to do, but by the time we got into the second trimester I had DH gung-ho into it. By the time we got to the anatomy scan I was desperate to find out...but DH was gung-ho TG (and we couldn't have done that thing where one of us found out. Neither of us could have kept that secret). By the time we hit 36 weeks or so we were both desperate to know.
Ultimately, though, I'm glad we stuck to it. Hearing DH announce we had a son is one of the greatest moments of my life, and his. That said, if we have another LO I don't know if we'll do the same, lol. If we don't we'll probably throw a gender reveal party.

@FutureMrsMcK: I remember we were in the birth month group thread on WB and how excited I was that there was another boy. I can't remember if our August 2012 babies had more boys or girls.

I don't imagine I would ever have the desire to be team green. I don't find the surprise of the arrival any greater than the surprise of the ultrasound.

@FutureMrsMcK: That's right. I couldn't remember. It's funny because everyone who I know whose pregnant or had a baby in 2013 have been girls. I guess 2012 was the year of the boys for us. Maybe 2014 can be our girl year.
