I have braxton hicks contractions that last for quite a while, upwards of 5 minutes isn't uncommon. At my last midwife appt, she couldn't even feel the baby because my uterus wouldn't stop contracting. I'm starting to wonder if this will correlate to very long contractions during labor? Did you notice any correlation between your BH and labor contractions?

I'm not in real labor yet, but I've been having contractions that sort of last for hours - I'll have a contraction, but my uterus won't relax all the way, then I'll have another contraction on top of that, and again it relaxes some but not all the way. This happened for about three hours this morning! Luckily they're not painful yet.

I never thought of it, but yes, there was some correlation! My BH contractions were always much closer together than "textbook," like 5 minutes apart or closer. With both of my births, I started at at 2 minute long contractions, 1 minute apart, so again, much closer than "textbook" early/active labor contractions.

if i had 5 BH over my entire pregnancy that was a lot...so no i didn't :o)
