All of our gifts were from santa, but DH just told me they had one large gift from Santa and the rest were from his parents. He thinks it's crazy that all my gifts were from Santa. What?!?

1-2 gifts from Santa, plus a few small things in our stockings, and 1-2 gifts from our parents.

We always got a stocking and a couple (2-3) big gifts from Santa and then a variety of smaller things from our parents and siblings (and usually from the dogs too!).

I think they wrote Santa for a few years. Gifts were usually from mom, dad and bro.

I always knew Santa wasn't real so my gifts were from my parents!

Both! Santa usually got us some of the big ticket items we asked for, then my parents got us the stuff we needed like clothes and stuff as well as a few other toys.

Both! Stockings were entirely from Santa, and a few larger, usually unwrapped gifts under the tree were from Santa. Everything else was from parents (or other family members).

This is blowing my mind. All of our presents appeared under the tree Christmas morning fresh from Santa's sled haha. Okay, I don't actually remember believing in santa, but my sister and I STILL make my parents wait until we go to bed to put presents under the tree.

Both. My parents usually gave me the stuff that could be wrapped easily. I remember santa always bringing things that were big needed assembly.

Both. My parents would put out the presents from them ahead of time and on Christmas morning the presents from Santa would magically be under the tree.

Both, and that's how it'll be with our LO. There's no way in hell Santa is getting credit for that play kitchen

Mom and Dad gave us: clothes, underwear, toothbrushes, etc.
Santa gave us everything else

They were all from Santa. Oh, the anxiety I used to feel going downstairs in the morning: "what if he hasn't been?".

We got gifts from Santa, the Elves, Mrs. Claus (clothes), and other holiday themed individuals. We got an ornament each year from our dad.
grapefruit / 4712 posts
Both. My parents always wrapped their gifts and left santas mostly unwrapped to make it seem real for us.

Mostly from Santa, but a special gift or two from mom and dad.

I wrote letters to Santa for a couple of years starting in 1st grade and never got any gifts from Santa. I concluded in my childhood reasoning that Santa only gives gifts to Caucasian kids. My parents were quick to nip that in the bud and said Santa only gives gifts to those that are ill, orphan, and may be dying. Also, that I should be happy because I was healthy and alive. So I never really wanted Santa to visit me after that talk, the scare tactic worked on me I guess. LOL I really don't fault them for it, they just never really understood the spirit of Christmas.
For our DD, we are definitely going to embrace the idea of Santa and let her imagination roam. We'll give out books or something small from Santa and mention that he was a kind man that helped poor kids during his day. It's just something fun to believe in that can feel real just by believing. But for us, Jesus is the reason for the season so we'll emphasize giving to others and acts of kindness too. She'll still be getting lots of gifts from us but as she gets older, I want to sign up for Angel tree and donate to Toys for Tots etc...

It would be one gift from Santa and then one gift from my parents. My parents always give one large, luxury item instead of many gifts.
I remember pretending the believe in Santa even after I no longer did just so I could continue receiving the Santa gift

Santa!
My gifts are still from Santa and not my parents.

I don't really remember, but I think they were all from Santa. Even my grandma would put Santa on her gift tags.
Now, we do most from Santa and just a couple from us for Liam.

Both, one "big" thing from each, but my mom's handwriting gave it away pretty early

Both, the big gifts came from Santa, and the smaller ones were from my parents. Also, the presents from Santa were never wrapped, but the ones from my parents were.

Parents only. They didn't believe in letting children believe in Santa (but we did the Easter bunny...go figure). I'm super excited about doing Santa with my LO!

We always had one 'big' gift from Santa, and other things from my parents. Stockings were from Santa as well.

@Zbug: like your DH, our big gift was from Santa and all the other presents were from our parents. Stocking were also from Santa. Neither stockings nor big present (so Santa presents) were wrapped.

We got gifts from both, even after we didn't believe anymore. Stockings were from Santa.

My parents. We were taught that santa doesnt exist. It took 21 years for me to realize he is real!

We had a mix growing up. Now, Santa gives us our big gift or an extra special gift.

Parents. I had an older brother who had figured out about santa and told me at a very young age. (Under 4 or 5) So my parents didn't bother with the charade after that. I have to say my Christmases were no less magical. I have always looooved Christmas.

They were all from my parents. They always made it clear that Santa was just a nice story. I never cared who provided the presents, I was just happy they were there!

Both
Wrapped gifts from parents
Unwrapped gifts from Santa
However, with our kids everything is from Santa!

I never remember believing in Santa. We only got a few small gifts from our parents. Occasionally they will give a gift from Santa now to be funny I think.
