My parents didn't yell often. Which is good because I have a weird thing with yelling. I hate it, and it doesn't work at all on me because I just get so upset about the yelling, I can't think about what they're yelling about.

I won't yell at LO, of course for something huge it might come out, but I don't feel like it's effective. Hubby and I are very good about not yelling at eachother and talking about things calmly, so hopefully that will work with LO too.

My parents yelled. They didn't do it a lot but when they did I hated it. I won't yell at my future LO. I never raise my voice or yell at my husband now and he doesn't tell at me. I just feel like it is so belittling and disrespectful. I think their are better ways to communicate.

That being said if I have a LO who is really young, isn't talking yet, and is doing something potentially dangerous I'd raise my voice to get their attention so they would stop.

My mom was and still is a yeller. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now. It doesn't help get her point across--although she thinks it does. My siblings and I learned to tune it out. I don't want to yell at my kids. DH is not a yeller, so are planning on not using that as a discipline tool. Though I'm sure we'll get frustrated and raise our voices occasionally.

My mother wasn't a big yeller. I don't plan to be one either. I tend yell at lot when I'm in heated arguments with my husband so I'm learning to communicate more effectively with him to ensure that I have the skills to avoid doing that when LO gets older.

My mom was a big yeller, she used to have a mug that said something along the lines of "if I rant and rave, it's alright, I'm a mom". I usually tuned her out, or yelled right back. the hubs and I don't really fight, so there's virtually no yelling around here. Hopefully it'll stay that way. I've learnt from my mom that over the years yelling just does more harm than good anyways, and it's something I'd like to try to remember.

My mom was a yeller (and still is). I don't see myself yelling at our future kids because I hated it when my mom did. Even now, she screams at my sister and I (both adults) for small things and she thinks there is nothing wrong with it.

My parents were not big yellers. My dad never yelled, we just knew by the tone of his voice if he was mad. My mom would raise her voice but not really yell. I don't think I would yell at LO. I would raise my voice but not yell. DH is also not a yeller really.

my parents yelled when they were trying to discipline or out of frustration when we were up to no good. But it was rare occasions, so I tend to think it's effectiveness didn't wear off. I'm not a yeller/screamer and neither is DH but I noticed we have started to deepen our tone with LO when she is doing something wrong and I think she's starting to get the point. I think the point is not to overuse it. Unless you are just the most mellow parents in the world, I think yelling is a pretty common thing when you are angry.
