My mom was really strict about what my sisters and I ate. We always had small portions and she included veggies, lean protein and fruits in lunch and dinner. Breakfast was always super light. It was how she was raised since my grandma was always on a diet (despite being a very thin lady). We never had soda, chips or cookies in the house. I never really noticed until I saw what other kids brought to school in their lunches or when I would go to someone's house and we would have bagel bites for dinner haha.

Were your parents strict about food?
