My mom was really involved in my elementary school... one time she came in and taught my entire second grade class how to sumo wrestle. She had made her own sumo ring and everything. Everyone thought she was the coolest! I was so embarrassed though.

my mom was super involved when i was in elementary school, too. she organized lots of fundraisers and volunteered a lot. lil' cb will probably attend school at my school, so i hope to be as involved as i can!

My mom would volunteer, usually she was in charge of serving food to teachers for special occasions. She knew that would get them on her good side 
she also came in and taught our class about Chanukah because there were only 2 Jews in the class so everything was Christmas. We played Dreidel, she brought cookies, fun stuff.
I'm hoping I can be involved too.... Depends if I have to work.

Yep, my mom was "class mom" throughout most of elementary school. She was on the PTA and organized all sorts of events and fundraisers. I loved how involved she was and I hope to be able to do the same for my child.

Not for me, both my parents worked full time so for the most part they were working while we were at school. My mom came on a few field trips with us, and my dad came on one. I specifically asked my mom if she would be hurt if I asked my dad to come on the field trip (it was to a planetarium and he is a geek). She was touched, as was he. It's my favorite memory from grade school.

My mom volunteered a lot.. She worked the lunchroom, did field trips, helped with fundraisers... I don't know if I will be quite as involved. But I would like to help in some capacity especially since I know teachers these days are really resource and time constrained. I just want to stay out of the PTA mommy drama!

I'm currently a room parent for DD's class! I like being involved and thought it was a good way to get to know everyone since we were new to the school this year.
