DS will be 17 mo at Christmas. Is this too young for a play kitchen? What age did your kiddos start playing with something like that?

I asked this a few weeks ago and the consensus seemed to be 18-24 months. I think it would be a perfect time in your situation!

i've been thinking about this too! i want to get one for LO, but she's only 13 months. i think i'm overly excited about getting her a play kitchen because i never had one growing up and i wanted one so badly!

@buffalove: my LO will be 17 months old this Christmas, too, and we're going to get her a play kitchen. I feel like if we wait until her birthday, we'll be "wasting time" that she could be enjoying it!

@SleepyMonkey: check out @septca: thread here: http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/so-kitchens-what-age Looks like your LO is a good age too! and nothing wrong with mommy enjoying the kitchen as much as baby, hahaha.
@HabesBabe: yes this was exactly my issue - that by the time the end of July rolls around, I'll have missed out on fun playtime. esp since I live in a cold area, this would be clutch this winter!

@buffalove: PregnantBee just posted a great deal on one:
I'm debating between that one or the corner kitchen (same design, just bigger):

I think 17 months is the perfect age. My son is 13 months and we're planning on making one for him for Christmas. Right now he loves to get into the cupboards so I know he will at least enjoy opening the cupboards and pulling stuff out.

@buffalove: Thanks!
I was dubious at first (about getting one on the early side), but lately my 10 mo has been super into opening cabinets, so I think she will love it when she gets it for her birthday.

@buffalove: my daughter is 13 months and she loves to play in her kitchen, has since 12 months! I think 17 months is perfect, might as well get as much use out of it as possible!

We've had ours since 9 months. Helped Charlie learned to stand/cruise/walk! Still going strong at 4 years!

LO is 15 months old. We just got one recently like less than a month ago. He loves it. He plays with one at daycare. It was an easy decision to get him one at his age. He'll grow into it because he can barely reach the freezer part. For us, it was a good investment. For Christmas, my parents are getting him food and other stuff for it.
