Both DH and I are on identical, employer sponsored PPO plans. Our bosses pay our individual monthly premiums, so we stay on separate coverage plans.

I just got a quote from my insurance rep, and to add LO, it will cost about $400 a month. It will cost the same on DH's plan, maybe a *tiny* bit less. I'm planning to go part-time once my maternity leave is up, and the premium amount, in addition to part-time childcare costs, and my husband's new work commute are just going to drag us through the ringer.

What are my options? Can I get LO a separate plan? I've seen some basic, Blue Shield plans for $133 a month, but can you throw an individual baby on their own coverage plan?

Anyone else go through this? What did you do?

Thanks!
