@mandb36: Oh, Wish You Were Here makes me so sad...one of DH's best friends died in a rock-climbing accident two and a half years ago, and every time DH hears it now he cries, and so whenever I hear it now I get really sad for him.

@PurplePumps: That song makes me sad too, I forgot about that one.
@FutureMrsMcK: That and "Ordinary World" make me sad because they make me think of my FIL that passed away in August. He loved those songs and they were played on the video played at his visitation. The lyrics to "Ordinary World" really get to me now.

"Hero" by Mariah Carey. It reminds me of my dad, who passed away in his 40s, when I was 16.... I miss him every day.

@Mrs. Pen: Oh, Whiskey Lullaby. I'm not a big country fan, but that's a really good song. I was just thinking about it the other day.
"Wind Beneath My Wings" - Better Midler - it's the song they played at my uncle's funeral in 1989. I was only 1.5 years old, but I have a very strong connection with him still.

@BabyBear: it is an amazing song but makes me soo depressed whenever I hear it.

@Mrs. Pen: Yes. It makes me think of the video as well. I think that's the only reason I haven't youtubed it. Don't want to get all depressed!

@BabyBear: I think my issue with it... is that it almost romanticizes the idea of suicide. I love the music, the lyrics, the artists - but idk, the way the song is done it almost makes it sound like a desirable and beautiful thing. And I do think that's dangerous.
lol oops sorry to get all philosophical hahaha.

Agree with those who said Fix You by Coldplay. This Year's Love by David Gray is another.
And my super sad, loser alert, song that really brings me down is In the Ghetto by Elvis. I know, ridiculous. And what makes it even more ridiculous is that that song is what inspired me to become a social worker! I'm such a saddo

The Show Must Go On by Queen.
It's always been a song of high emotion to me (how poignant it is that Freddie Mercury wrote it knowing of his diagnosis) but then Mum decided that she wanted it played as her funeral was carried out of the church. I had held it together until that point but carrying the coffin out to the lyrics "inside my heart is breaking"... I just could not hold it together anymore. Hubby was in tears as well, as was the majority of the people attending.

@Ree723: oh I agree with In The Ghetto. Also remember bursting into tears when my Std 4 teacher played Major Tom.
