My relatives are starting to ask what I want for Christmas and I have no idea this year.
What are you asking for this year?

A Roomba (well, not an actual Roomba, but a robot vacuum). It’s lame, and I’m a bit mad that I’m going to get a vacuum cleaner for Christmas, but I really want one.

Also from family - I usually request easy stuff like Starbucks gift cards.

@erinbaderin: They're amazing!!! (read that in a sing song voice for me) Not lame at all, you don't have to vacuum all the time anymore, yes you have to every now and then because they're not perfect. BUT you're not lame at all.

A posture sensor. My posture is so bad and hopefully this will motivate me to do something about it. It's something I'd have a hard time buying for myself though: http://a.co/d/0f6lwFB

@erinbaderin: Um, not boring at all! We have one and it's the best (especially because we have two dogs).

A lamp to do my own gel manicures
Necklace with kids initials or names
A new watch - mine broke!
House coat that’s towel material for getting out of the hot tub in the winter

Sam Edelman flats. I’ve been eying them for years and finally tried them on and liked them a lot.
I really want laser hair removal but I won’t be asking my mil for that.

I've slowly been adding to my list...
@erinbaderin: I feel the same! I have a steam mop on my list, so not fun. (a roomba would be awesome though!)
An Arden hanging planter from Magnolia Homes (have one and love it)
AE Cardigan and sweater
Perfume
New Kindle cover
Personalized cutting board
Large handbag
Felt letter board
Contigo water bottle and/or thermos

Slippers
Straightening brush
Metal mixing bowls
Purse Organizer
Microwave popcorn popper

@catgirl: Oooh I've been meaning to try those earrings! Do you have a pair already?

@Sams Mom: I really just want Starbucks gift cards but my family doesn't like doing gift cards
nectarine / 2018 posts
@skinnycow: I do! I have three pairs that I love and wear regularly. I have the smokey quartz, leopard, and turquoise cut outs, all in size small. The smokey quartz are my favorites.
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@skinnycow: I can usually get them as "stocking stuffers" even though I'm too old for a stocking

@Mrs. Champagne: I got a lamp for gel manis last Christmas and I really enjoy doing my own! And I’m not as terrible at it as I thought I would be.
@Sams Mom: you’re never too old for a stocking!

@JennyPenny: didn't know this existed! Wish my husband would wear it.

@JennyPenny: as another option to this, have a physical therapist use kinesiotape (that bright colored tape you see on athletes) on your back. It will do that same thing as the sensor, and will help put your muscles in the correct places!
(my husband is a PT, and I sit at a desk all day, when he tapes me up, I sit so much better automatically!)

@catgirl: @skinnycow: I just got mine (I got M cut-out tear drop in silver and M tear drop in leopard). LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Live up to all the hype and I'm glad I didn't get cheapy Etsy ones!
nectarine / 2018 posts
@snowjewelz: yes! They are so amazing, I'm glad I didn't get cheaper ones as well. I often forget I am wearing them. I wear my leopard pair a lot because I feel like they go with everything.
I typically have them switch the hooks to surgical steel because the silver plated ones can show some wear after awhile.

@catgirl: Oo! good tip, I def foresee getting more I've been getting compliments at work all the time for them and I feel like I can start earning commission!

Gift cards for Home Depot, Amazon and cash. We are hopefully closing on our first home in a few weeks if all goes well and I just want cash!

-the white house ornament (plus a few that I am missing from prior years)
-decoration crock with our town name on it (I have one for all the towns I've lived in)
-books
-a return address stamp with our new address on it

Starbucks gift cards - now there is an idea! I don't really "need" anything so having coffee gift cards when I'm home on maternity leave would be amazing.

@JCCovi: Which Rothys are you getting? I’m so tempted but I can’t decide which style and color.

A potty trained toddler! Seriously.
On an actual gift level: A mandolin slicer and something that does a good job chopping onions. Maybe a robot vacuum. Gift cards for my garden come spring

@RonjaL7: Have you previewed The Princess Bride on Amazon? I love the film, but the book really disappointed me. The way the author described women was downright disturbing in its misogyny. All the charm of the film was replaced with crudeness. Sorry to be a bummer, I know everyone has different tastes so you might still enjoy it, but I thought you might want to try to investigate for yourself to see if you can look past its flaws or not.

@Hypatia: I hadn't. I just thought it was the book the grandfather was reading in the movie. I will take a look, thanks!
persimmon / 1467 posts
@RonjaL7: @hypatia: I was surprised by the book but not in a bad way. I read it in college and didn't pick up on anything @hypatia mentioned, but I'm pretty oblivious. It was just funny and lighthearted to me.

If anyone asks, I'll say I really need a couple big and pretty flower pots! I could buy something myself, but DH doesn't get the "pretty" part and will grumble why I spent more on something fancy when I could get ten cheap plastic ones for the money
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@RonjaL7: @Hypatia: @brownepiano: I also read the book in college, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's similar, but different from the movie. From my recollection, it has the same flare as the movie, in that it depicts the story as a grandfather reading "and lets skip over these 7 pages of Buttercup packing her belongs" or something like that. I liked it, but it's one of the few cases where I like the movie more (The Prestige is the other example of a better movie than the book).

My list:
Gift Certificates to Target, JCPenney, and the movies
Full length mirror
Plastic Shelf Unit (for storage in basement)
Blu-rays (collecting the Marvel movies, plus Wonder Woman)
Books (I have a gazillion books on my list)

I'd love a family sign for our house - something similar to this:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/628596429/timeless-design-family-sign-outdoor?ref=shop_home_active_19&pro=1
We have this unsightly area on the wall of our porch right by the front door from where an AC wall unit was located years prior. I have wanted to cover it up for YEARS but hadn't known or found what I liked. So, mounting a sign like this to some nice stained wood will do the trick finally
Otherwise maybe a small piece of jewelry/earrings since I wear them every day. Due with baby #2 in a couple weeks and trying to save all our $$ for her and presents for LO#1. My gift for hubs is about $50 so that's our limit.
