It is really cold here so I am making some beef and barley soup. The best thing about making a big pot of soup is I won't have to cook for the next few days.

I was going to crockpot pot roast, but am too tired from a sick little dude and his wakeups last night. I'm thinking crust less broccoli cheddar quiche instead.

We're doing the not-even-remotely-healthy chili hot dog dinner tonight. We like to do eat this for football Sunday nights.

@Happygal: Sure! It is a recipe from the Skinnytaste blog. It tastes pretty good so far. I just added my barley so it isn't quite done yet. Some of the comments say that the recipe works really well in the slow cooker too, which is always a plus.

@babyjmama: sure! I cook a little over one cup of brown rice until it is almost done and steam some brocolli. Then I mix that with chicken (usually leftovers from a roasted chicken) and a can of cream of brocolli soup. I add a little salt and pepper and put in in a casserole dish and bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes. Then I pull it out, shred some cheese on top and put it back in the oven to melt the cheese.
