My in-laws have everything. EVERYTHING. They don't like traveling, not big drinkers, and are pretty much set in their routines. FIL is helping DH paint the entire interior of our house! I'd really like to get them a nice gift, but after almost a decade of gifting, I'm out of ideas!!!
Maybe a gift basket (FIL has a big sweet tooth) and a gift card to his favorite restaurant... a photo pic of the kids?

We are doing a book for FIL and something small for MIL and a restaurant gift card. We will also let A pick or something small for them.

MIL: Fancy bath stuff from Lush. The woman loves a good bath.
FIL: A 1000 piece puzzle, fancy crossword and sudoku books. He needs a hobby and he can't do much because of his advanced black lung disease.

My inlaws also have everything.
MIL: recent family photos in a photobook or a canvas for her home. Or both - she loves to show off the books but loves big portraits in the house.
FIL: We usually give him some kind of golf shirt or sweater. I might get him some house slippers. He doesn't care about gifts so its usually something boring. Last year we did get him some new knives and he was STOKED. He likes grilling too, so maybe an infrared thermometer.

MIL- she just got an iPad so som sort of accessory for that, maybe a kitchen stand for it. Also a gardening journal
FIL - no sweet clue. Our standard gift to him is something golf related but I feel bad buying him yet another golf shirt, lol

Before we were married I gifted them a waterford ornament each year (they do an annual ornament). It was easy and his mom loved it.
Now that we are married DH handles their gifting. He usually alternates who gets the big gift between them (one year it was a golf trip with his dad, the next concert tickets for his mom). He usually also does a nice frame with DDs current school picture in it.
For my part - they both are huge sweet tooth people...so I also make a nice large cutely decorated box of my christmas cookies.
Also - DayCare offers to make ornaments each year with DDs handprint for $5...so every grandparent gets that from us!

We did some professional photos of the boys and had a big 10x10 framed for MIL - it was expensive so that will be her big gift and we will probably do a few small things.

My DH deals with gifts for his parents, but I am going to give them a photo book with pics of the kids from this year. I won't finish it until after the holidays though.
I think a gift basket with food and wine could be nice.

Nothing! For the last few years we've sent them mid-range thoughtful gifts, and they've sent us cheap joke gifts (seriously, one year they sent me rubber gloves with fake jewellery attached to them). Last year, when they sent my son two tiny cheap toys, was the last straw, so this year we were going to send cheap joke gifts as well, but then instead made a deal with them that they'd buy gifts for the two "boys" (my 23 and 19 year old brother in laws) from us and we'd buy gifts for B from them (note that this was my idea but I still resent it. He's their only grandson! They should want to buy him presents!). So we're just going to send cards.

Going in with SIL and her husband and getting something like this. They have people over all the time and fill up coolers. So this can just stay on the porch all the time. Granted it could be like every other gift we give them, never used, but we at least tried.

DH wants to get his mum a DVD of the Fireplace Channel playing Christmas tunes as she loves it and can't get it there.
Not sure about his dad. Not buying for our siblings and many SILs and BILs this year, just the kids.

We're going the homemade/personalized/edible route this year. I made a wall hanging decoration using DD's feet as snowmen. I made an ornament or magnet using her hand/finger imprints and we'll make them some homemade goodies and put in a tin. They have everything so there's no use buying them "things".

I always get a photo gift for my in-law's. Sometimes we go in with my SIL to get a joint gift for them. We spend about $100 but some years have spent more than I would like. DH has a big family with 6 sets of aunts and uncles, 12 cousins, and a grandfather to buy for. It's overwhelming, and I know we're expected to get his parents a big gift. It's just not always in the budget.

We made a mosaic book of our trip with them this summer. We usually also get them an ornament. Books for FIL, probably something delicious to eat and a framed pic of DS for MIL.

Right now we are going with a photo book and restaurant gift card to the fanciest restaurant in town (they live in a small town so there's only one really fancy place). I'm not sure if that's enough. They love camping but have everything and short of paying for a reservation for them, there's no real thing we can get them. I always have more ideas for MIL than FIL.
Not sure what else. BIL2 is getting a SCOBY (and probably a six-pack of beer), and BIL1 is probably getting a Home Depot gift card, and maybe some succulents and/or a bottle of wine.

I'm being super lazy this year and literally everyone is getting the same thing. A mug made just for them from one of several potters (local and through Etsy) that has their name, nickname, or grandparent-name on it and a can of Williams-Sonoma hot chocolate and marshmallows and Mariage Noel Tea. I'm doing them as couple gifts so the mugs are matching sets. I'm almost done shopping. Whoop!

Not sure about Christmas yet but they have recently started collecting those pottery mugs/vases with town name and the year established so we got one of those from our town.
We got them a print from a local artist last year.
They really like country-ish style things or local made. Maybe you can find something from a farmer's market (if they are still open)?

I usually try to leave this to DH but he always forgets until the last minute so our gifts are never really anything great. We have my FIL and his gf. They've been together for almost 4 years and all I really know about her is that she likes wine and has gotten him into it as well. So we've always gone with some sort of wine accessory and a few bottles. He might get his dad something history related as well but that's about it.

Apparently nothing! DH just informed me they don't want to exchange gifts this year. I don't think they've appreciated our gifts the past few years so they're cutting us off! LOL. Oh well, less $$ to spend.
FWIW we always would get my FIL one of those Harry & David baskets with summer sausage and different cheeses, which I do think he really liked. I've gotten MIL things like new tea towels and trivets to match her newly-renovated kitchen. I was thinking about doing movie passes for them this year since when we visit they often suggest seeing a movie...

@abbydabbydoodlebug: Yup. If you're looking to have them personalized, it seems there's only a few potters on etsy that you haven't missed the cutoff for at this point (I was hunting there yesterday).
