E & F LOVE being outside, but they don't really like our backyard that much. They love the front yard because there is a rock bed, leaves, cars driving by, etc. The backyard is pretty much just fenced in grass at this point, so I want some ideas for outside toys/activities that they would make the backyard a little more fun.
So, how old is your child and what are their favorite things to play with outside?

Water table, slide (just a one of those plastic climbing ones found used on a parent swap site), her Cozy Coupe and her bike. 2 years old.

sandbox got the most play out of our outdoor toys when we had a backyard. we had a water table too, but the sandbox was always the favorite!

water table and climbing up and down her picnic table. She also loves the little lawn mower, even though the bubbles don't blow like they should.

@autumnlove: Chalk is another thing they play with in the front yard--long sidewalk up there--but we only have a teeny, tiny cement patio in the backyard. A water table would be great when it warms up a little more.

Sandbox that we got for $10 at a yard sale, wooden playstructure (specifically the swings and the slide), a water launcher (left over from the previous owners) that he uses to water the plants, a trike and wheelbarrow that my dad got second hand and he filled with rocks, Age 3 this past summer.

She's 13 months now and loves her Smart Trike that she got for her birthday. All summer she played on the deck with beach toys and loved those. Now she can walk and we play in the yard with leaves. Cheap enough lol

LO is 22 months. he loves the rake and broom. we also have a toy lawnmower and stroller that he likes to push around.

Bubbles, chalk, water table, the river rocks that my parents have near their pool, a plastic ride on car, little tikes grill!

We got a great deal on a climbing structure with a slide. It's plastic and made for little ones but it's bigger than the ones you see everywhere. I'll try to find a link we got ours used on a Facebook bst page for really cheap. Lo also really loves his push lawnmower and lots of trucks.

We have a slide, a small see saw, and a water table. We also have a hand-me-down playhouse that needs to be assembled - I think she'll enjoy that a lot now that she's getting older. If we had the space, I'd want to do a raised bed garden. I hear wonderful experiences with toddlers and gardening.

I know at our daycare, Xander seems to love the slide they have. He also loves any of those push/ride toys.

We have a hand-me-down Little Tykes playhouse, a toddler push bike and random balls and gardening equipment. He is 19-months and especially loves playing with the gardening equipment and playhouse.
