I miss having game night at our house! We loved to play monopoly, but apples to apples and cranium are such fun group games! Catchphrase too!

Catchphrase is always a winner in my books. When my BFF and I are on the same team, watch out- we have a mind meld going on, no one stands a chance against us!

@caffeinated: I haven't played Mafia in years! I love that game, but you really have to be in a group of creative people for it to be good.
I've been enjoying Dominion and Ticket to Ride recently, but they're a little more geeky than the usual adult group games. Scattegories and Catch Phrase are fun too though

Apples to Apples, Mille Bornes, Trivial Pursuit, and Cards Against Humanity (if you and the people you're playing with aren't easily offended)

@alayaya: we also love Dominion and some of the other Rio Grande games. They are totally nerdy though!

I think we play all of those (including cards against humanity). For under 8 people I like 7 wonders and we will do a word pictuonary game. You write a phrase the next person draws it and hides the phrase. Then you take the picture and write the phrase and go around the table. It's hilarious and super fun.

We played Quelf last night with my parents and I don't think I ever laughed so hard. At one point my husband was sitting under the kitchen table, my mom was wearing a sock puppet on her hand and my Dad was doing the chicken dance! You have to be pretty comfortable making a fool out of yourself in front of the other players though so it might not be for everyone.

Not monopoly. I lost big time last night and it hurt, booo! Lol I really love apples to apples!

Catchphrase is a favorite for us. Also, I love boggle and scrabble, but they aren't really "group" games. Skip Bo is a fun card one.

Have you ever tried telephone pictionary? That is hands down my new favorite. Everyone writes a phrase on a piece of paper. They then hand the paper to the person to their right. That person draws a picture of the phrase on a new piece of paper, and then passes that to their right. Then the next person tries to write down the phrase that the picture depicts on a fresh piece of paper. Then you pass to the right again and the next person draws the phrase that was just written. You repeat, until each phrase has completed a full circle, and then share the results (including the phrase that came back after doing a full circle around the room). It's always hilarious!

@MrsH: My group of friends went through a big Sequence phase about 3 years ago! We played it ALL the time, I miss that game!
