I second haba! Also maybe some musical instruments from melissa and doug? Or simple puzzles from them. (although he's probably a bit too young for that).

@allison: did you end up finding anything good? I'm also in search of some good, wooden or other natural fiber toys, and I'm finding that everything is so darn expensive!

@allison: What did you end up getting?

My son loves this plan toys cone sorting toy. It's pricey but it's really awesome. He loves to take it apart.

@allison: those look great! Thanks for sharing, I think I might buy some of those for mine. We're trying to move away from plastic toys, so these are awesome.

@allison: I just ordered those stacking rings with the 20% off toys on amazon! I think he will like both. I figured the stacking rings will probably be easier and the cone is a little more challenging. I actually like playing the the cone sorter. I like to stack it in different ways then of course he takes it all apart and ruins my creation. We have that first toy too. I always keep it in the diaper bag for him to chew on when we're out and about.
