The choices are overwhelming! We are willing to spend up to $250 for a reliable, good quality video monitor. We don't need two cameras as we are only planning on one child. I do like the feature on some of them that you can log-in when you are out of the house!
What did you buy?? Pros and cons? Samsung v. Motorola? Online reviews seem to hate every model.

We bought a Motorola video monitor it works really well. We got ours for $150 at Babies r us when it was on sale.

We have had a Motorola MBP36 for DS for the past 2 years and it has worked flawlessly. I think that model may have been discontinued now but Motorola has other ones that seem pretty cool. Since we will need 2 cameras soon we just purchased the Summer Infant Dual View, hoping we have as good of luck with that one.

We have a very basic summer infant model (secure sight, or safe sight?) and I wish we had done more research and gotten a better one. It's ok but it loses the connection within our small condo (probably too many electronics and wireless things, to be fair). And it does not pan or move the camera at all, which I wish it did now that she is getting ready to sleep in a big girl bed. It's fine but I think there are better ones for not that much more money.

We registered for the Motorola 36S because it had the option for a second camera. Plus, I like that it can tilt and pan. I like the ability to see the room temp. Oh, it has two way communication which I heard is a good feature to have.

Following b/c I'm still undecided, despite LO already being here. :-\ I was just about decided on a Motorola, but then saw a Foscam online that sounded good, too...
I find between the wide range of review results & the difficulty in comparing models across retailers that I just procrastinate further, but really gotta get one!

We have a Motorola with 2 cameras, it's been great but 2.5 years in the monitor doesn't hold a charge for very long. I think for the next baby we'll look into getting a foscam or other unit that works over wifi...

Samsung. It gets the job done but isn't spectacular. I like fosc, but the wifi aspect does freak me out a bit.
