When we started TTC, my doctor suggested fertility books and then warned me away from the pregnancy book What to Expect When You're Expecting. She said it was full of stuff that may not happen to you, but will scare you. So, what books about pregnancy did you find helpful?

i would check out healthy sleep habits happy child by dr weissbluth, the happiest baby on the block by karp, and nurture shock by po bronson.
read up on breatfeeding on kellymom.com and watch youtube videos of breastfeeding.
i didn't find the general books like what to expect very helpful. you can find all that information online anyway,

i have "your pregnancy - week by week" by glade curtis and judith schuler. i find it helpful. it came with "your baby's first year - week by week"

I read "Skinny Bitch Bun in the Oven." bLah. Made me feel like I was doing everything wrong.

I have "what to expect" and was gifted a copy of Jenny McCarthy's "Belly Laughs". It was a riot!

I read "The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy" and "Dad's Pregnant Too." Both were cheap and had a fun sense of humor.

"Let's Panic about Babies" - I cannot recommend this enough if you need a good laugh!

I liked "belly laughs" by jenny McCarthy also. I have What to Expect, but I really don't find it that useful honestly. My mom actually found a copy of Mayoclinics "Guide to Pregnancy and Baby's First Year" for me at a garage sale, and so far I've found it to be the most useful.

I've got "Your Pregnancy Week by Week" and "The Panic-free Pregnancy" in terms of pregnancy books. I was told to avoid "What to Expect" because it will make you crazy. I don't really love either of the books I bought, I feel like I could find all the info in the on the internet if I needed it!

So far I've only read part of two books, but I've enjoyed them both. "The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy" by Vicki Iovine for fun information, and "The Baby Book" by Dr. Sears for more serious information.

I 3rd the Belly Laughs book by Jenny McCarthy. It's a great, quick read. I read it in just a couple of hours but it's a nice way to put some humor into what you're experiencing.
