What color is your crib? Also, why did you pick that color over the other colors?
Oh, what is it made out of?

Oops, I forgot to let you vote multiple choices. I can't seem to fix it. Let me see if I can get MrBee to fix that.

I love light natural wood, we have it in our entire house and will use it for the nursery furniture as well.

Ours is white.
Our first piece of furniture was a white dresser with hand painted dragon flies on it, refurbished from an antique shop. We fell in love and from then on everything was white.

I got our crib used and although it was in perfect condition I chose to paint it yellow! It was the biggest pain in the ass EVER but I actually just put it together and it looks PERFECT!
The dresser/changing table combo I got (with the crib) is a light natural wood and I'm keeping it like that, although I have considered refinishing the fronts of the drawers with mod podge and patterned paper...that is still up in the air though.
There are TONS of restrictions on painting in our house so I'm trying to add color/visual interest in other ways!

We plan in going for a white crib and dresser. The nursery will be lavender with green accents, so we feel white would go better than a darker color.

Ours will be an espresso color. The walls are a buttery yellow and I love the contrast between dark and light colors.

@leelee: That's a great point. My walls are off-white and a dark brown crib would look great!

We haven't bought it yet, but we are going with white furniture in the baby room. We are going to a medium/dark grey for the walls, and then yellow/grey/white fabrics, so the white seemed like the best fit.

Our crib is an expresso stained wood. The walls are covered with white wainscoating on the bottom and the upper portion is in a cork wedge brown. We also like the contrast.

our nursery walls are painted lavender and we have a white crib!

Since I put some pictures up on the internet I couldn't help but show off my yellow crib...

Our crib is a light espresso colour and it's made of wood. We were given it and it's been used only once or twice so it's quite new. We don't have a dresser yet, but the twin bed that will be in the room is a pine colour. So no matching sets for us, just whatever we can pull together.

Ours is dark walnut color, and its made of wood, it comes in a set with a dresser and changing table all of the same color. we also have light colored walls and like the look fo the dark brown against the cream walls

Ours is white. We had a white dresser we wanted to use in the nursery, so we bought the white crib to go with it.

For my son we have dark brown pieces in the nursery. If we have a girl I might consider painting.

Ours is espresso stained wood. I love the way it looks with our pale green nursery walls.

We went with White furniture. I think it seems a bit more childish and goes better with more nursery colors.

@Navy_Mommy: Is that my cat hiding under your crib?? lol
Our crib is a super lame oak color, MIL bought it so I didn't have any say. I wish we could have gotten something pretty like esspresso or something

White! We had a white changing table we found used and are usig an old white bookshelf. I love it. I never thought I would want white but it's perfect for the nursery.

I've always loved all-white nursery furniture so that's what it is!

I went with white, and it is wood.
I went with a light turquoise wall color and I just felt like any other color furniture would look silly with it. Also, my grandparents were gifting me an antique dresser and I wanted something that would match.

We went with white for a couple of reasons (and it is wood). 1) easier to match, since we aren't getting a 'set'. 2) it is in our bedroom and it would also be hard to match another wood with our bedroom set, so white is a better match than another wood, in my opinion.

I just love dark wood. Liked the white but I thought too girly for my boy. Got them both the same cribs.

Let's bump this really old thread of mine.
I was thinking white but changed my mind recently and now I'm thinking a dark wood for the babies.
Off topic-- Wow, 4 years later and I finally get to talk about cribs for my real babies, instead of hypothetical ones.

@bluestriped bee: yay!
Ours is a black Jenny Lind - the price was right and the black makes it looks modern and eye catching against the light grey walls. I still it!

@Charm54: Oh, black crib with gray walls sound great! Our walls are ivory and since we are renting, we don't want to bother with painting.

Dark wood and I wish we did white, like I wanted. I let DH talk me into it. The dark wood is much harder to decorate with in my opinion when the bed will convert into a full bed.

Ours is light grey but I painted it to be like that - it was originally dark wood.

DD1's crib was in a mini crib that was dark wood. Her nursery had white walls and was full of bright, colorful accessories.
We got a full-sized crib for DD2 and painted it Benjamin Moore's Symphony Blue (between navy and cobalt). We bought their no VOC paint and had them put it into spray cans for us. I LOVE the way it came out. Her room is painted SW Inspired Lilac and has a natural, mid-tone wood dresser, bookshelf and rocking chair.

I went back and forth for awhile on the color, but went with white. I already had a white dresser and wardrobe so kept it simple. And also since I wasn't buying a 'set' of furniture, with white, you don't have to worry about matching wood colors. I do have a cherry rocking horse and rocking chair in the room that fit right in. (But when I was looking at cherry cribs, the finishes still varied so much!)
