Britax Marathon. My ILs bought it as a Christmas present, but I think the price hovers around $200.

We have a Combi Coccoro & love it! It doesn't have has high of a rf height & weight limit so we'll likely need to get another one to do erf (after age 2), but I'm okay with that. P fits in it really well, it's a fun color, and It's not to big & bulky! We got in on sale for 174 after tax on amazon! Each of the different colors are a different price & vary in sale price though!

We got an evenflo tribute sport or something like that.... it cost us a whole $50. It works just fine as far as I can tell!

Graco My Ride 65, I shopped around and waited for a sale and got it for about $120. I love this seat, but it is very big and may not work for everyone's vehicles rear facing.

Peg perego primo viaggio. We love it! It was expensive though, all the fabric choices are at least 329...but it's on nbd for 250 I think.

following this! We have a cheapy cosco scenera that we got for free... but idk, DH and I have reservations about it because it doesn't feel very sturdy.
So we might get a new seat. My almost-16 mos old is still in his infant seat!

Britax Marathon 70. I can't remember exactly how much we paid! I think it was just over $200 on sale.

Another Radian owner ... 239 on Amazon. We also have the Marathon, I think that was a bit over 200.

We have the Graco mysize 70. I'm in love with it. It will rear face up to 40lbs, no height limit. And will forward face to 70lbs. or 50 inches. We won't have to buy another seat until he moves to a booster! I loved that it had a lot of the safety features of some of the more expensive seats, but at a price point I could stomach. We got it on sale for $149, but regular price is $179. BRU always has those 20% off coupons you can use though. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=13069715&prodFindSrc=prodCrossSell
I found this site super helpful for comparing convertible carseats, They provide good summary reviews of all the seats with pros and cons lists. http://www.carseatmoms.com/reviewpost/g21-convertible-carseat-reviews-and-ratings.html

@Mrs. Pen: wow! I can't believe he still fits in his infant seat. Rowan's on track to out grow hers in length in a month or two (6/7 months!) I wish we could have used our seat longer as that thing was expensive!
ETA: we got the combi coccoro which I know is smaller, so she might outgrow it again but currently we have two smaller cars and I wanted the flexibility to have multiple car seats if we still have these cars with more kiddos!

We have the Britax Boulevard and bought it for less than $200 (I think it ended up being $180 after discount). I also found a second one from NBD for $150 this week. It retails for over $200.

@Mrs. Pen: I've talked with techs that say it's just as safes as any other BUT you really want to be sure it's not expired, and has never been in a accident.. if you even wonder about those, then I'd get a new one!

we have the graco my ride 65. she loves it! she especially likes putting things in her cupholders - and it's still reclined enough that she can sleep comfortably in it.
eta - I got it in July before I had her, it was being clearanced at Target and was $69.

@runsyellowlites: it was brand new. Free only cause we took a carseat safety class. When I signed up I didn't know what type it would be.

@Mrs. Pen: That's awesome! If it fit in my car fine then I'd definitely use it! We still had our small civic when we got P's AND wanted something we could fit 3 across when the time came b/c we figured we wouldn't be in our larger vehicle by then... that's why we went with the Combi... and I really loved the colors! lol

We have the Peg perego primo viaggio with leather. I think we paid $380.00 for it.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@birdofafeather: we picked this seat on purpose because it's much longer than other infant seats! the weight limit is 35 lbs and height is 32" I think! I wanted to get as much use out of it as possible. With coupons we paid about $100 for it.
pineapple / 12053 posts
@Mrs. Pen: our seat was the only one that fit in DH's mini! So it is smaller on purpose! We just didn't know we'd have this long baby!

We have the Recaro. I think it was $239?
But is bulky though so for our next convertible (we will need two in our car at the same time), we will get the Radian.

We have the Britax Marathon, paid around $215 on Amazon, but they are on NBD all the time for cheaper.

We have the Diono radian as our primary carseat.
I don't know what the other carseat is...we bought it when we were traveling for a week (just had it shipped to the hotel and had or in laws ring it to the airport)...rental car carseats are the WORST!

We have two sets of Diono Radian 120s and are very happy with them. First set we paid around $225 each on sale and with rewards at diapers.com. Second set we paid $199 each on sale at justkidsstore.com.

@Mrs. Pen: Go with your gut! If your scenera doesn't feel sturdy it probably isn't installed correct, which is just as important as the type of seat you have.
Also, if your other seat is a true infant only seat you may want to make sure your 16 month old hasn't outgrown the height/weight restrictions for it. I have been a Child Passenger Safety Technician for over 4 years and I have never seen a 16 month old who still falls within the ranges for an infant only seat. Best of luck! If you need any info or help finding a fitting station near you I would be happy to help!
Cheers!
