We used RnG for about 6m until we started having problems. DS kept getting a rash and I just didn't feel like they were getting clean enough.

We switched over to Country Save and have been using it ever since (so, for 8 months) and have had no problems. We really like it.

Well I'm not going to be of any help to you. We briefly switched to Ecos but are back to rockin green. Do you know whether you have hard or soft water? Different detergents work better with different types of water.

We have BG diapers and use the BG detergent. We've been using for almost 18 months with no issues!

Rockin' Green makes a product called "funk rock" that is supposed to help when the funk builds up. Maybe you could try that? Otherwise- I've heard this come up a few times on my local CD facebook group- the moms almost universally suggest switching to tide original powder. Odd because I thought you needed to use a CD specific detergent, but they swear by it.

Have you tried using something with enzymes like Bac-Out?

@dojo: Just the unscented kind. We use it on all the laundry.

@dojo: I felt like Ecos wasn't getting our diapers as clean but who knows. I've also started sunning them more, which helps with stains (and maybe also smells).

I am fairly sure it is the one that is recommended, but that is a good point about the crystals. I will check into that. So far no issues here though. We have been using it since we bought our diapers last summer.

We also use Country Save and really like it. It is a BG approved diaper detergent. Every once in awhile I do add the 1/4 cup bleach that BG recommends and it definitely gets rid of any funk/odor.

We have really hard water and even Hard Rock wasn't helping.

We have to add calgon to our wash and we make our own detergent.

When I still actually CDed, we used original Tide powder.

Most "cloth friendly" detergents do not actually get your diapers clean...and they have human waste in them, so you really want them clean - haha.

Rockin Green Funk rock didn't work for us. Been using SUN. Just tried arm and hammer and both LOs got a rash. /:

We use RnG and oxyclean detergent to strip, per the fuzzibunz's website suggestions.

@dojo: We just switched to Tide to the difference is crazy! We also fought a rash for months which went away with tide I don't think the diapers were getting clean enough!
