I’ve actually had this conversation this year. I’m in a K-4 building. I’m in a low SES building and the demographic is killing me. I just worded that I needed a change and that I was looking into options that were better for my family.

Obviously, I didn’t state that admin don’t handle behaviors and it’s pure chaos. Or that the district doesn’t train us appropriately in trauma and our kids have so much trauma every day. Or that ten miles south the kids come from good homes and parents are involved but it’s the same district and the same pay.

@FaithFertility: Yeah, I think that gaining the perspective of teaching in a different environment will add to your experience and help you grow and be a more effective IC when you have the opportunity would be a good way to throw that in there Explains your departure without burning bridges. I'm right there with you. There are a million other reasons I am leaving...but it isn't really necessary to lay all of that out there, especially the parts they can't do anything to improve anyway.
