I remember getting a kid's piano at five. I don't remember asking for anything. My parents never asked me and when my aunt asked I was surprised.

I remember getting a boom box in late elementary/early middle school.
I loved getting clothes. We were on a pretty tight budget growing up. I got $100 for clothes at back to school and whatever I was gifted for Christmas and my Birthday. So new clothes were a big deal.

@Mamaof2: same. Oh, the joy when I saw that Cabbage Patch Kid on Christmas morning!

@mediagirl: I too was excited for my cabbage patch. LO got one from my mom a few years ago and she didn't grasp the significance like I did!

I remember being super excited about a Cricket doll (similar to Teddy Ruxspin, but a little girl).
Also, american girls were always a hit.

@youboots: The 'biggest thing' I remember getting is a new pink bike! It was pretty great hehe.
I mostly asked for barbies and dolls and girly frilly things for Christmas.

I always wanted an American Girl doll and a Power Wheels and never got either...
But my parents got me lots of other exciting things like a bike, a TV for my room, a stereo in middle school.

I was horse-obsessed growing up - I asked for a horse every year between about 7 and 13. (And I got a variety of toy horses, but obviously I wanted the real thing! )
