A lot of my friends went on cool trips but I just worked at a ice cream shop until I left for college in the fall.

I worked in the alumni and development office at my high school. No cool trip or anything. But the summer after my sophomore year in high school my dad and I did a little tour of Europe so I can't complain : )

I worked, but I also took about 2 weeks off for a cross-country trip with my two best girl friends. We had to get our parents on board and plan it WAAAYYYY in advance, so we could all save up enough $$ for the trip.
We drove from Texas to Virgtinia Beach, VA and stayed there a week before driving back. And we had a blast!
We were really "good" girls, so it took some convincing with our parents, but we started working on them hard at the beginning of our senior year. We were super responsible, didn't drink or anything on the trip, didn't make any bad decisions, etc.

Worked. Continued seeing my ex-boyfriend. Hated myself. The usual 18 year old stuff. (Actually, I was 17 until August)

I smoked a lot of pot. Just, all the pot. And hung out and partied. Eventually I got a new job at my new college and an apartment. One day I woke up, felt really high, and realized that I wasn't, in fact, high. And that was it for my summer of smoking pot. It was fun for a little while as a teenager with no responsibilities, but that's about it.

Worked for my friend's dad (he's a doctor) and hung out and partied every night with my friends! That was one of the more memorable summers!

i went straight to college (literally after my graduation, i got in the car and we drove 4 hours to my school) for summer school. I got accepted under their "Summer" program so i HAD to take summer courses. it kinda sucked at that time because i missed out on our last day of "school" (which was two weeks after our graduation) and all the trips my friends took, but in hindsight, that summer was probably the best college experience i can remember!
