Oooh that is fantastic! We went to a hotel wedding and stayed overnight the first time away (DS was 5 months), but we were gone for less than 24 hrs.

Our first real trip away was to NOTL for our anniversary. DS was 10 months. We spent 2 nights and it was so fantastic to have some "us" time. I would like to do it again before #2 arrives!

Had a baby

I couldn't bring myself to leave DS overnight so until I went to the hospital to birth his sister I was home with him (almost 2.5 yrs old) . My mom watched him while I was in the hospital

We packed up our apartment!

When DS was 6 months we went to Jamaica for 4 days.

I was out of town with friends and then on a work trip, so i had lots of fun!

When it's me and DH in a couple months, we're going to see Billy Joel in concert

My sister didn't leave her kids overnight until the oldest was 9....they went to vegas for a weekend and came back KU lol

We went out for dinner, drinks, saw Wicked, and slept like the dead in a hotel room. It was FABULOUS.

I had a baby!! DS was 13.5 months. We haven't left DD yet and she's 12 weeks. We're planning a weekend away without both kids this summer!

We went to a wedding in a spendy area so we had to share a room with friends. It was also their first night away from their baby. DH knew he wouldn't be getting any nookie so he bailed on me after the wedding to go to the after party. I was too damn tired. That was at 6 months.

The second night away was last night. In laws came to town so I took DH out for his birthday. Sleeping through the night was heaven. We're one week shy from LOs birthday.

We've each had nights away for work, but never a night away together. I *think* this might finally happen in June (DD will be 2 by that time), and we're going to a friend's wedding in VT while DD will hopefully stay with my parents in Boston. The wedding is kid-friendly though, so we might just take DD with us.

It was our 3-year anniversary - we went for drinks at a swanky hotel bar that overlooks the city, then had an amazing dinner at a Brazilian steakhouse and lastly an overnight at a great hotel. The next day we did a little shopping, walked around just spending time together, and then a light greek lunch. It was an amazing 24 hours!

Slept. That is totally the lamest answer on this thread, but it was pretty early on - my parents live less than 10 minutes away from us, and when I was just at the end of my rope with exhaustion I took my mom up on her offer to keep him overnight so that I could just crash and STTN for the first time in months.

Sounds like a good time! Your in laws will probably enjoy her too. And it will be nice to relax since you're expecting again!

Honestly, this probably isn't the answer you were looking for but the first time away from dd was when she was six weeks old, and my ppd/ppa was so bad that mil took her that night. It was probably the worst day of my life.

The first planned night, however, was at 5.5 months, when I was well on my way to recovery and we went to nyc! That time was really nice. (Un?)fortunately dd finally rolled over the day after we left, lol.

DS was 18 months and we went to Paris! But we were already living in France just an hour by train. My MIL took care of DS and we spent two nights going out to museums, restaurants, visiting friends and just enjoying one another.

DH took me out for valentine's day. dinner out and went to see the lion king musical and stayed overnight at the casino hotel downtown.

We went to NYC for the night when DS was 16.5 mos. It was a quick, 24 hour trip, but it was so worth it! I hope we can manage to go somewhere again before #2 arrives.
