DH got me a little diamond heart necklace with an little emerald inside of the heart for DS birthstone. Originally he was going to get me an emerald ring, but he didn't like any of them,
So he and the jeweler came up with this. And it's nice that we always go to the same girl because it had to be customized
And she pushed it to the front of the line do it would be ready for me for mothers day. We can add more stones to it as well if we have more kids. Also, the jeweler helped significantly with the cost of it

II hope this does not sound selfish of me, but I was kind of irritated that my husband didn't even acknowledge mother's day. I am assuming since our baby hasn't arrived yet he didn't think he needed to....but geez, I was getting induced that night, doesnt that count for something? We ended up cooking for our own moms and then heading to the hospital. He could have at least said happy mothers day to me!

@Mrsdaredevil: that doesn't sound selfish at all. Happy Mother's Day. I hope you are doing well and get to see the baby soon!

DH got me a very sweet card, and so did our 6 day old baby girl My Mom is still in town until Tuesday, so she came and hung out with me and brought me a card and some cookies. DH got pizza and cheesecake for us for dinner. My Dad sent a text message, and also texted DH to remind him that it was my first Mothers day and not to forget. Hahaha

@Mrsdaredevil: Aww, I was irritated too, and not even as close as you. Not cool.

@Mrsdaredevil: Egh! I'm so sorry. But trust me I know how you feel. It sucks.

@Mrsdaredevil: maybe he will do something after baby arrives? But then again mothers day is over.

That sucks that he didn't wish you Happy Mother's Day?? He knew it was yesterday, right?
We don't do gifts either (not that I would turn one down!). DH did get me cards, let me get some extra sleep, cooked all day and took care of the LO. I went to get a mani/pedi and did not have to do too much else yesterday. It was a nice break so I'll definitely take that as my gift.

@Andrea: yes he knew it was mother's day! ha.
I don't know... maybe I should of said something. I don't make a big deal of father's day, but I do tell him how great a father he is and make him breakfast. I actually got up to take care of Mavi, but once the hubs got up he took over which was nice.
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@blushink: He took care of Mavi so that is good but saying those 3 words obviously mean a lot to you, too! It is not too late. I would say something today about being hurt. Maybe he has his own reasoning behind it? Either way, if it was me, I would bring it up!

I got a combo 30th birthday present/Mother's Day gift. 3/4 carat diamond studs. Our LO's birthstone, of course she had to sneak out for the expensive birthstone.
@chopsuey119:

Papa Y got me a designer diaper bag that I have been checking out for a long time -- I think he knew I would never never get it for myself because it's hard for me to splurge like that. I also got a cute picture frame that says "mom + dad = me" with pictures of all three of us "from" Baby Y. We all had brunch, and I got to SLEEP IN. Best present of all!

@Mrs. Yoyo: how sweet!!! Which bag? I've been eyeing the Kate Spade diaper bag but will NEVER get that.
blogger / pomelo / 5400 posts
@blushink: The Storksak Elizabeth. I love it because it doesn't look like a diaper bag at all. I actually totally ruined the surprise a week ago when I randomly Googled it and saw that it was on Sale for like $100 off at Saks. I asked Papa Y if I should get it, and he started acting all weird, and finally admitted he'd already gotten it for me. So we sent that one back and got it cheaper, ha ha!

Well I wasn't expecting anything (momma-to-be), but I went shopping with my best friend on Saturday and saw this Coach purse I wanted was on sale, I called DH to see if I could get it (trying to cut back on unneccessary spending now) & said yes consider it your first mother's day present! I am thrilled, I love it (and it was on clearance!) haha

DH had flowers delivered to me "from the LO's" which was sweet. He also got me a card from him thanking me for all I do for our family. My youngest LO got me a teddy bear and my oldest LO got me some chocolates. They both also made me things at school.
I made brunch with my mom at our house earlier in the day and then we went and visited with my inlaws.
It was a good day.

Mr. S changed the baby and brought him to bed in the AM so baby S could have his breakfast in bed. While I nursed Mr. S made me a huge breakfast. When I came downstairs there were two orchids and two leis from his recent trip to Hawaii laid out in heart shapes on the coffee table with coffee, OJ, a card that he made from baby S and breakfast. After nap we went to the farmer's market together then we all took and afternoon nap together - Mr. S put the baby down so I could lay down right away - then we dropped by daycare to give baby S's daycare umma flowers and a card and then we went out for ice cream. When we got home Mr. S washed our cars while I played with the baby, and then he made me dinner after baby S went to sleep. He also bought me a silver bracelet that we'll engrave with baby S's birth date. It was a wonderful day!
OH! I almost forgot, Mr. S also re-did my entire closet for me as a gift. He took everything out, painted it then reconfigured all the shelves, etc. so it's a more useable configuration. I was sooooooo grateful!!

For my mom we had a bracelet made that had each of our family memeber's names on a silver circle, there is room to add more as the family grows.
For my MIL we got her a manicure/pedicure at her favorite place because she never pampers herself, she loved it!

@jessiejo17: That is so sweet! I need to get my mom and mani/pedi again. She;s only ever had 2. One the day before my wedding because I asked her to come with me and the "girls" (bridesmaids, friends, grandmother, etc)... and another around her birthday after realizing (at over 55 years old!) that they're pretty awesome!
@mrs stroller: Mr S for the win!!

I'm a little late to chime in but I was so spoiled. My only request was that I didn't have to cook from Friday to Monday and my wish was granted! It was so nice...I HATE cooking. I also got cards from my husband and daughter, some flowers, three gigantic bags of different candy that I love. Well, actually only two, the third bag was my husbands favorite candy that I don't like. I laughed when I saw it. And I also got a necklace and a bracelet. It was an awesome first Mother's Day.
