@hilsy85: Yes, exactly!
I thought I had weird gas or something because it felt exactly like bubbles popping.

What the others have said but deep deep inside - it didn't feel like any of those mivements against my outer abdominal wall at first (if that makes sense). But yes, jacuzzi bubbles, tiby tickling fingers, or I guess maybe "butterflies".

Flutters, but I learned later on that I was mistaking movement for baby hiccups. DS hiccuped a lot in utero and continued to do so out in the world.

Mine felt like little 'thumps' - I never felt bubbles popping or flutters.

Bubbles or (muted) popcorn popping. I thought I would recognize the baby's movement immediately with LO2 but I was actually more uncertain with him than with LO1!

@Littlebit: Same here!
Maybe because I have an anterior placenta but I never felt the bubbles or fish feeling. Right before 22 weeks, I started feeling a thumping that DH could also feel from the outside. So, we actually got to feel the baby move at the same time.

This early, mostly like baby is stretching or pushing on something veeery slowly. I did get some kicks early on, and it was the weirdest feeling - kind of like being kicked by a grasshopper

Gas.
I'm pretty sure I could feel him before I actually realized I could. I just thought it was gas at first, and then the gas got stronger!

I felt some maybe movement around 13 weeks that was sort of tickly. Maybe what people mean by butterflies? But that stopped and I felt nothing for a couple of weeks, so I'm not convinced it was her.
Early definite movement (15 weeks this time, 18 or so last time) feels a lot like muscle twitches to me. Like, I'll have a muscle twitch somewhere else in my body and my first thought is that it's baby, and then I realize, no, baby is not in your calf dummy. But they feel almost identical. Now as she's getting a little bigger, they still feel like that some, and other times it's like something is rolling around in there. I assume that's when she's up against the side and maybe flipping or something.

The first time I felt it, around 18 weeks, it felt like someone was brushing up against me except from the inside

Mine felt like little kicks. I never had the bubble or pop corn sensation.

Definitely like an involuntary muscle twitch (think like your eye twitching). 100% most accurate way I can describe it.

My first movement felt like a flopping goldfish, if you've ever scooped up a goldfish in your hand to move them from the tank or whatever.
@loki: @getjazzy: That eyelid-twitching feeling is exactly how I describe it when LO gets hiccups. So annoying and it won't stop.

At first it felt like I ate something bad and needed a bathroom ASAP. Like bubbly stomach feeling but above my crotch. Then it turned into a popcorn feeling kinda. Or bubbles I guess works!

@getjazzy: I've had a ton of involuntary eye twitches over the last week! I'm ready!

Hey due date twin! I just got my first real movements today. To me it feels like some light thumps and pops, almost like a ball is rolling around in there and occasionally bumping into the wall of my uterus!

I didn't feel/recognize any flutter type movement. First movements I recognized were like finger tapping on the inside.

@Mrs. Microscope: Hey! That's a really great description! I will be on the lookout for that!

I felt a bubbling feeling. It started around 19 weeks and after a few days of the bubbling it turned into little kicks. I cant believe you are 17 weeks already!! So exciting.

Mine feel like very light thumping. Maybe bubbles I guess. Or twitches. Aaah! It's all the same to me!
Feels pretty similar to the gas bubbles I was feeling and always wondering if it was baby until it always resulted in a little poot. Haha! TMI? But then one day I felt it in a slightly different spot, and no poots, and I quickly realized it must be baby, and now I can tell the difference just by the feel, but it's still hard to put into words. But it literally just happened one day! No advance warning, so it could be any time for you! Felt my first ones at 15w5d
