I'm looking for some ideas. What are your favorite things to bring to a potluck?

I make this cheese dip often (we always add onion)

Or I get a few pork tenderloins and the club house pulled pork seasoning packets and bring a slow cooker full of pulled pork with some buns. It's always a hit!

Depends on what the potluck is for. If it's for a football Sunday then something like buffalo chicken dip: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2010/02/lighter-buffalo-chicken-dip.html
Or for a "normal" potluck then I usually make Panzanella (Italian Bread Salad): http://www.tuscanrecipes.com/recipes/panzanella.html

I'm known as the "Cupcake Lady", and those are always popular. If I'm in a really big hurry, I'll just grab one of those giant cans of green beans and make a super fast green bean casserole.

It depends on what event it is for. Sometimes I will take a fruit salad or fruit skewers. If there will be kids I like to take nicely cut up sandwiches cos kids like simple foods

I have lots of experience wit potlucks due to my husband's shop functions. All the wives have to bring food. Some things that have gone over really well:
Homemade guac and chips
Taco cups http://pearls-handcuffs-happyhour.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/bite-sized-brilliance.html
Anti-pasto skewers (or pasta salad made with pesto instead of Italian dressing) http://www.thehungryhousewife.com/2011/02/antipasto-kabobs.html
Pinwheels
Homemade sushi rolls
lumpia
or any dessert really. Cupcakes, oreo truffles, etc

Crab-apple-mango salad with rainforest crackers are a foolproof crowd-pleasing appetizer. (imitation meat is good enough)
I'll also bring japchae (korean potato noodles with veggies and meat), marinated salmon wrapped in phyllo pastry, or some sort of dessert.

@zippylef: those antipasto skewers look awesome! I'm going to make them for a party this weekend!

Bacon wrapped weenies, buffalo chicken dip, spinach artichoke dip with bread and veggies, different kabobs with a variety of dipping sauces, crock pot mac and cheese. If I do a desesrt I usually do a triffle-so easy and they look so pretty, or I do fruit pizza.

@zippylef: I pinned those kabobs on pinterest and have just been waiting for an opportunity to make them:)

I bring one of the following items based upon the party and what the host requests:
- hashbrown casserole
- creamy chicken and cheese dip plus chips
- stuffed mushrooms
- veggie platter
- some type of dessert

My spinach artichoke dip is always requested by my friends, so that's pretty much what I bring to everything. Depending on the function I will bring Tostitos with the dip or bake the dip into a bread bowl and cut the inside of the bread into squares for dipping. Mmmmm.

Taco cheese dip: velveeta, cream cheese melted together, ground beef and salsa (pace picante is good for this). Yummy.
Meatballs and Weenies in the crockpot with bbq sauce and just a touch of maple syrup and mustard.
There is one more we just found and I can't think of it cause it was relatively new

Desserts or dips are my specialty. I love a good excuse to make something from pinterest!

Potlucks make me too anxious. As someone who has a major hair in food phobia, I don't trust anything homemade. Even stuff I make I don't trust!

I usually make Peanut Butter Nutella cookies. If I have advance warning (and not DH coming home at 9pm saying "Oh by the way we're having a potluck at work tomorrow can you make something?"--true story, and not just once), I'll make sweet potato rolls.

Oh gosh, this post is making me so hungry!

I brought a case of White Castle Sliders (little cheeseburgers for those of you not fortunate to have ever eaten at a White Castle...). If that doesn't scream "classy" and "domestic goddess," I don't know what will...
