We called it Mischief Night. Just found out that it's a regional term.
I heard some call it Devil's night or Hell's night.

@wonderstruck: I grew up in metro Detroit and also called it that. it was kind of a big deal, there used to be some scary stuff that happened downtown but just mischief where we lived.

There's no term we usually use, other than "the day before Halloween." But after re-watching The Neighbors' Halloween episode from last year, I think I'll call it Halloween-ween from now on.

@bhbee: Yeah, the Detroit area now has a big program where they refer to it as Angel's night and they have the police as well as tons of volunteers out on the streets trying to prevent trouble.

Mischief night! I'm from the South Jersey/Philadelphia area and also just learned it's a regional term. My students informed me today (I'm in central PA now), that mischief here takes place on actual Halloween night.
