Hellobee Boards

There are two songs that I can play and he instantly stops crying. It's like being a baby whisperer. One is "Dirt Road Prayer" by Lauren Alaina and the other is Martina McBride's version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." I don't know why but he's instantly soothed by them.

He does not like stoplights at all, so I sing at every light. Last weekend we got stuck in HORRIBLE traffic for a parade in DC and I could not get out of the car. I don't think he's ever cried so hard before. It was awful.

I usually just wait until we get home, but usually she doesn't cry in the car thankfully. She does cry if we stop, so in line at the bank or for a coffee run I have to play kids music on XM or sing! If we are far away from home or she is crying a lot, I'll stop. I'm sorry he was crying so much!

open the window if you have power windows....that worked for me recently
change the radio station....nice loud music
drive faster (to make the crying time shorter?)

To be honest, the first time it happened, he got so angry and we were only 10 minutes from home- my husband and I started snickering in the front seats. Yes, there are the times when he is so inconsolable that it upsets me- this wasn't one of those times.

When he's really upset or we are far from home I'll either pull over or sit in the back while my husband drives. Most of the time putting on some loudish music usually works, but there is nothing wrong with stopping and calming them down.

Aww...that's tough! My LO used to wail as soon as we put him in the carseat and we soon realized that he hated the infant insert that was in it. Now he is full of giggles when he goes in but if he starts crying or fussing we use the pacifier...or just turn up the music! There have been a couple of times where he has cried so hard he's fallen asleep.

Yeah, it's so though to hear them cry. If it's a short ride and we're almost home I just let him cry. If it's a long ride like to my in-laws then we have to find a rest stop. Most times he'll eventually stop crying b/c he's so tired from crying. I know, sad, but sometimes there's nothing I can do.
