lately, I've been able to put my DD to sleep by rocking her in my laundry room while the dryer is running. she looooves that sound. she will instantaneously stop fussing and stare into space. it relaxed her much more than my white noise machine.

@Mrs. Bee: I have no ideas, just sympathy. My LO woke up at 4am today and wouldn't go back to sleep. He wouldn't nurse either. Hope you get some sleep soon.

Omg M woke at 4am after 8 hours of sleep. She wanted help with her boogers! Damn stuffy nose and sickies!!!!!!!!

Seriously can't wait until she's better!!

Sounds like an awful night! I've resorted to the swing in the middle of the night when he was sick and wouldn't drink and wouldn't sleep - Tyler is still young enough where he will go in it.

What do I do? Contemplate putting a "baby for sale" sign on the lawn! lol!!

Honestly though, lots of cuddles and nursing are the only things that will make her sleepy. Or a car ride, but I hate doing that because as soon as we get home she wakes up.

A couple of weeks ago we had a fluke wake up in the middle of the night (it was actually only 10:30pm) and she wouldn't go to sleep. At all. All night. The hubs and I just miserably gathered in the living room and let her do what she needed to do to tire herself out (cry...play...cry...play...etc). Finally, at 4:30am she passed out. It was a pretty bad weekend.

I hope Olive gets better and you get some rest!

Aww, hope she feels better. Those sickies are going around, my LO has been a bear about sleeping too with her stuffy nose.

@mrbee: Aw, poor Olive!

@Mrs. Bee: I'm so sorry. I always tell parents that at birth all parents should be discharged with 2 things: topical ear numbing drops and soften. Between the two of those, you can avoid almost any er visit!

@chopsuey119: omg that's disgusting. I would so not do that. lol. I'll put DH on booger duty cause that's nasty.

@Mrs. Bee: aww poor Olive!! that is so sad.

If DS doesn't sleep, which isn't often although he has yet to be actually really sick, I let him watch TV lol!! he loves TV.

@Mrs. Bee: I think if they will, it would be helpful. Ask for the generic antipyrene benzocaine because it should be much cheaper than auralgan (generic vs name brand). I always wonder why more people don't prescribe them for symptomatic relief!
