I don't usually read books more than once, so then they just sit in a cabinet. I'm wondering if I should keep them, donate them, or sell them. What do you do with books after you've read them?

If I want to read them again, I keep them on my Kindle. If I don't think I'll ever read it again, I remove it from my Kindle. For books I love and have already read multiple times, I buy them in hardcover and keep them on a shelf.
If you're never going to read it again, I say donate them, or give them to a friend. I think it's silly to keep a ton of books that just waste space and never get used. I don't like keeping unnecessary stuff, especially if someone else could get good use out of it.

I keep them. I have built in bookcases in my office. I like to read books more than once.

I have a bookshelf that I keep most of my favorites. If I have a book that I read and isn't a favorite, I'll usually give it to a friend or donate.

If I liked it, I will keep it and pass it around to friends and family. If I didn't like it, I sell it to Half Price Books.

I keep my favorites and give away the ones I don't like as much,
Do you have a local used book store or a book swap group? That might be a good way to trade the ones you wont read again for new ones!

I love buying books still. I just bought a bunch of cute hard copy children books at Barnes & Nobles yesterday for $3-$4 each. They had a red tag sale, half of the sale price.

If it is a classic, something I have a special attachment to, or something I might re-read, I keep it on my bookshelf. Otherwise I pass it on to someone else!

If it wasn't a favorite/classic I have donated to the library.

Keep them. I have such an attachment to books. Even the ones I don't love. I probably should donate or sale some.

Keep em! Unless I absolutely hate a book, I keep it forever. I re-read books multiple times.

I read all my books multiple times. I guess I could donate them but I'm greedy!

They go on my bookshelf and collect dust. I always think that I'll read it again one day.

If it's a book that I love/think I'll read again, I keep it. Otherwise, I'll take it to a used bookstore and see if they'll "buy" it from me for store credit. I don't like to accumulate a ton of books (that I won't reread, anyway), so I mostly use the library to avoid cluttered shelves. There have been cases where I've enjoyed a library book so much that I've gone out and purchased it, but that's definitely the exception.

I keep most books if I really like them - I like the idea of having my own library. Others I'll just donate to the library.

I buy books all the time, and keep the ones I like. If I need more space on my shelves I'll donate the books I didn't like much or don't think I'll read again, but me and my husband are the kind of people who will keep 2 copies of one of our favourite book series, one in the bedroom where some of the books are in worse condition or don't have the covers we like, and one out on display in the living room. We have 9 shelves full of books in our 2 bedroom apartment.

I keep them!!!! Even if I don't personally re-read them someday, maybe my children will! Or my grandchildren! Or even Hubs, haha, though that's less likely.

I used to keep them all, then I just kept favorites and donated the rest. Now I mostly read on an e-reader, but sometimes I do wish I had a paper copy to keep on the shelf of some favorites.

I donate most of my books to the library. But the ones that I really like, I'll keep and hopefully pass them down to my kids!

I keep them. If I don't like them or have multiple copies, I put them up on BookMooch so that I can swap them for other books I want to read.

I should probably donate or sell them, because I'm really running out of room for them. I'm to the point where I have stacks of them in corners...I just can't bear to part with any, even the ones I haven't read in years.

@lovehoneybee: this is how I am too. Books remind me of different times in my life, I can't bear to part with them. Even the ones I haven't managed to read yet:)

Shelve them. I only buy books I really love, so I read them a lot. Everything else I get from the library.

Lend them to friends, I keep ones I really liked but otherwise I pass them along to other people to enjoy! I have a Kindle now though so this doesn't happen as much!
