Nuts, raisins, pretzels, and some type of chocolate. M&Ms would work, but dark chocolate chunks would probably be healthier.

Pretty much what @IRunForFun: said, minus the raisins because I"m not a fan of raisins.

very basic: roasted almonds, dried mulberries, dark chocolate chunks ... our most recent batch also includes dried white nectarines and pecans

Cheerios, Shreddies, raisins, peanuts, craisins, chex, pretzels... uhm... i think that would be a perfect trailmix.
