Hate: Countertops, not enough counter/work space, cabinet color.
Love: Wall oven, and warming drawer, big tall cabinet for pantry, and most cabinets have drawers to slide out for easier access

We gutted, renovated, redesigned and hand selected everything. So I love everything about it!!!

The only thing I wished we had room for is a separate oven just for baking. But we have a very open concept so there was not enough wall space.

Love: the look of it (cabinets, backsplash, color), lots of storage, stainless appliances.

I don't really *hate* anything, but if there were a few things I'd change:
granite counter tops, in-fridge water, double oven

@Mae: So, the only problem with double ovens that we found when we were shopping is they are SO small. The overall size of both ovens are not that much bigger. So really the bigger one can barely fit a turkey! Which is a no no in our house. So the only way for a double oven would work, for us, is to get a rangetop and a double wall oven. Food for thought.

@locavore_mama: @mrs. wagon: I think it varies based on whether the double (range) oven is an over/under or side-by-side configuration.

(We have double (full-size) wall ovens and a gas range top.)

Love? Nothing haha. I do like that the kitchen/living/dining is one big room.

But it's a rental with a teeny kitchen, hideous cabinets, small sink and dishwasher... all first world problems yes. But the kitchen is probably the worst part of this apartment.

Cupboard are really low so it's hard to fit appliances (ie: Mixer) underneath
I'd like some sort of quartz countertop (it's not a hate, just a like-to-have)

I love the window where my husband put molding around so it looks "finished." I hate, hate, hate, hate, HATE the stove. We have one of those electric stoves with pop up grates and they're always crooked and nothing ever browns properly because the oil leans to one side of the pan. UGH. Hate it.

We love everything about our kitchen - honestly, although the rest of our house is pretty sweet too the kitchen was the selling point!

We have a double oven and although I agree that the bottom oven is smaller (we did fit a good sized turkey in there for thanksgiving, but I don't think you could fit a huge one in there - wish I remembered how much it weighed, it wasn't a lightweight bird!) I *love* not having to heat up the entire oven every time I use it. We use the top oven for 90% of our cooking needs, and it preheats super fast since its a smaller area to preheat.

I wish I had taken photos of the stove in my house! It's a 15 year old electric model. It's not even stainless, it's white, lol.

I love how bright & open it is, and I love the pantry/wall of cupboards we put in.
I don't like the floors (cheap linoleum) or the dishwasher - but those are pretty costly to replace.

@MsLipGloss: hahah we considered 42"-48" but it would've been soley for the double oven!! Hahah

@looch: oh yea, mine is 36" but all burners have restaurant quality BTU and real simmer functions. Retails 5K. I, of course, did not pay 5K.

Like--we have one? Seriously, we're in a doll sized rental home, and there's not much to gush about here. I can try harder.....I like the window by the sink and being able to look out the back door into our yard. I also like the new(ish) fridge--lots of rentals have crummy ones, and this one is basic, but clean and operating.

Dislike--wish we had more counter space, a nicer stove, new cabinets, that I could paint it a neutral color, and the floor....cheap linoleum that looks dingy no matter what you do!

Love - my double oven, the super quiet dishwasher, the tall counter space, the hidden recycling bin, the light in the afternoon, the color (yellow w/white cabinets), the massive amount of storage space, electric outlets on the island

Hate - the white countertops, the black island top, the electric range, the tile on the floor because it has ridges that are impossible to clean!

it's a rental, so I won't be changing a thing -

like: that most of the appliances are new, I've lived in other rentals where they were really old and crusty. I like the newly tiled floor.

dislike: just about everything - it's so small you can barely have two people in there at the same time and when you do, you're bumping into each other.
the countertops are that cheap laminate that has like, gold glitter in it, lol (backsplash is the same!)
the cabinets are cheap, cheap, cheap and don't go all the way up to the ceiling, yet, they are blocked off so you can't store anything up top either, in a space with so little storage, wtf?

Current home:
Dislike:
- laminate countertops that absorb anything (aka warm plastic print gets transferred to countertop an doesn't come off) and it's an ugly color and it's laminate. Ugh!
- Limited storage space (overall problem with a small house)
- Small kitchen
- Vent doesn't vent out, just recirculates air back INTO the house

We love our open shelf for a microwave under the cabinet. Its a great height (you can see contents and aren't pulling hot items down towards your head) and saves tons of counter space
