LO will be 1 in a few weeks and I'm trying to decide what to serve for lunch (2pm). There will be about 25-30 guests.

I'm with @jhd:, keep it simple! We did hotdogs, pasta salads and chips for LO1's birthday party and I think we will do sandwiches for LO2's birthday.

Over the weekend we ordered a Hawaiian pizza from my favorite pizza place. To keep the menu simple, yummy & somewhat portable I'd serve pizzas, veggie crudite, and fruit.

@yoursilverlining: Mac and cheese bar sounds soooo yummy!
For D's first birthday, I think I did a crock of pulled pork, a crock of Italian beef, and then chips, fruit, veggies, and cupcakes.
For his 2nd, we're doing a Planes theme, so a wing bar and plane-shaped sandwiches are on the menu. Haven't figure out the rest yet...

We grilled burgers and hotdogs on our wood pellet grill, then had a fixings bar, chips, fruit salad, veggie dippers, and potato salad. It was summer during her party, but I would probably do the same for now the traeger grill works fine in cold weather, just uses more pellets.

We did catering from a local pizza place and got salad (which no one ate), a couple pasta dishes, steak tips, and bbq chicken with some sides. We had about 50 people and we started at noon so everyone came hungry. I normally wouldn't have done the steak and chicken but LO is MSPI so I wanted something for her to eat too.
